Beauty queens and cosmetic addicts start saving your pennies because Sephora has announced (officially) that they are opening a store in Australia this December 2014 – at Westfield Sydney to be exact.

With over 1,700 stores worldwide, the Australian store will be the second Sephora location in the Southern Hemisphere (after Brazil) and will see the arrival of brands like Marc Jacobs Beauty, Tarte, Kat Von D, Andre Fullerton, Boscia, Skin Inc, For Beloved One, Formula X, Wen, Percy & Reed and many more to Australia for the first time.

“Sephora’s vision for Australia is to be absolute Beauty Authority, promoting a new shopping experience with an unparalleled range of products and a high standard of service,” says Mr Ravi Thakran, Group President for LVMH, South Asia, South East Asia & Middle East, and President for Sephora for the region. “We are very excited and hope fir everyone to be a part of this. More importantly, we hope to make Sephora Australia a destination where clients can learn the latest beauty trends and tips to further compliment their savvy lifestyles.”

Known by many beauty lovers in Australia for their cheap prices in the USA, we should warn you that brands that you can already buy at the likes of Myer, David Jones, Priceline, Mecca Cosmetica and etc, will most likely be sold at the same Australian recommended retail price as it is now. But never fear, also landing in Australia will be Sephora’s extensive range of cosmetics, face and body care products and beauty accessories – which will no doubt mirror a similar RRP as their US counterparts, just like it does all around the world.

While the first Sephora Australia store will be in Sydney, there are future plans to expand to other Australian cities, with Melbourne assumedly the next in line to get one.

Stay tuned for more information as we get it!
