Meet Peacock Lane, sparkling new collaboration between jewellery designer Samantha Wills and Australian winemakers Yellowglen. Created to invoke feelings of romance and the wonderment of a secret garden, Peacock Lane is a sparkling wine for the girl who wants to be seduced from the bottle shop shelf to the last drop in the bottle.
“Peacock Lane is about transporting our consumers somewhere magical – the pop of the cork and the rush of bubbles take them to a decadent world of beauty and opulence,” Wills says. “Regardless of whether they’re enjoying Peacock Lane at a party, or simple enjoying a glass of sparkling in their jeans at home, it’s about making everyday moments sparkle.”
It was a truly collaborative project with Peacock Lane incorporating Kelly Smith’s beautiful illustrations (which we have come to know and love not only through her designs for Samantha Wills’ Stationary and Astrology collections) and the iconic SW Bohemian Bardot ring.
Created in collaboration with Yellowglen Chief Winemaker Trina Smith, Peacock Lane is not just any ordinary sparkling wine.
“Just as Peacock Lane design is a blanace of striking imagery, delicate feminity and layered textural elements, so too is this sparkling style,” Smith says. “We have blended parcels of our reserve sparkling varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier with fruit carefully selected from the 2013 vintage to create a wine that balances the structure and complexity of our Yellowglen house style with the crisp, approachable fresh flavours that are appealing in a range of settings.”

We were transported to Peacock Lane for dinner on Wednesday night, taken down a garden path of a private estate in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Feeling like Alice in Wonderland we let the last rays of sunlight sink below the horizon as we sat down to try Peacock Lane over dinner and delightful conversation under a canopy of flora and fauna with the twinkling candlelight flickering. It was like a scene out of A Midsummer Night’s Dream where the party starts at dusk and ends at dawn.
Peacock Lane by Samantha Wills and Yellowglen will hit bottle shop shelves from October 5th 2013, a bottle will retail at an affordable $19.95. Then in November a special gift set featuring Peacock Lane in the iconic Samantha Wills wooden box and a matching Bohemian Bardot ring will be released in time for Christmas for $99.
