MBFWA: Lisa Maree open onsite with swimwear

It might be cooling down, but at Lisa Maree the vibe was hot, hot, hot! The model-turned-designer started her show in typical dramatic fashion, with an opera singer reminiscent of the dark ages making her way down the runway through the darkened tent. With the vibe at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia set, and the lights up, the real stuff began.

Pastels and florals dominated the signature crochet swimsuit collection, while pleats and girly cutouts were seen on floaty dresses, tops, and leather shorts. Pastel hues in blue, pink, yellow and green look set to be huge this summer, with the shades making many appearances on the runway and complementing the wild floral designs perfectly. The former model certainly knows what works, and isn’t afraid to take risks. While the crochet pieces may not be for everyone, if you want something different from your swimwear, then this is it.
