Lee Alexander McQueen’s ashes to be scattered in Scotland; was working on underwear line

He was given a private funeral last month, attended by his close friends and family, but Lee Alexander McQueen’s final resting place will be off the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Though he was born and bred in South London, he felt very strongly about his Scottish ancestry (and often included a Scottish check into his work). His father Ronald and his five siblings will reportedly travel to the island soon to fulfill his wishes. His brother Michael said: “Alexander was back and forward all over the world, but he felt at home when he was in Scotland.”

The fashion world is still coming to terms with McQueen’s death as every new detail flies around the web at warp speed. The latest news is that the designer was working on a mens underwear line before his passing, and is set to be released this June. The boxers and briefs all feature prints of feathers, X-rays and a collage of bones like his menswear collection in January. [ThisisLondon, WWD]
