She’s one of the most fashionable and well connected women in the industry with a style that is all her own, and as a growing number of celebrities launch their signature fragrances, Daphne Guinness is gearing up for the release of her first fragrance.

Simply called Daphne, it was created in collaboration with Adrian Joffe (the man behind Dover Street Markets and husband to Rei Kawakubo) and Comme des Garcon and “has a lot of woods because that’s what I love. These notes represent my life, ” she tells W magazine. “There’s Spain, the Middle East, France, Ireland — also the Seventies and moss.”

Due out in September 2009 (perfect timing for a promotional push with the international fashion weeks in full swing), the fragrance is a woody concoction with hints of bitter orange, saffron, iris, patchouli and amber. Encased in a sleek round bottle there is the air of classic style about it. No gimmicks or whimsical fancies here.

Will you be buying Daphne when it’s released in a few months?

Meanwhile in other fragrance news, four celebrities have announced the launch of their first scents this June alone: country singer Faith Hill, Hairspray star Queen Latifah, actress Reese Withspoon for Avon and rapper 50 Cent. Are there any celebrities left who don’t have a fragrance to their name?
