New bites: 5 May 2007

More news bites while I’m still catching up on everything I didn’t do during Australian Fashion Week...

  • Marc Jacobs is launching a new fragrance, called Daisy. Aimed at a younger market, the new scent is described as a sparkling floral with top notes of wild strawberry, violet leaves and ruby red grapefruit. “Daisy is more youthful,” he tells the WWD. The youthful Daisy fragrance is set to hit the US, UK and France in August with Irena K modeling in the advertising images.
  • Another Go International designer has been announced for Target America. It’s British design Alice Temperley, known for her gorgeous embellished and flowing dresses. The Alice Temperley for Target collection will follow Patrick Robinson’s collection for Target, in US stores now.
  • As the Costume Institute ball at the Met Museum nears (it’s on Monday night) the question now is, which celebrities and models are going to be on the arm of the world’s best designers? Stefano Pilati is Julianne Moore’s date, but what will Yves Saint Laurent’s new face going to wear? You would hope that Gisele Bundchen is in line to wear YSL.
