SPOTLIGHT: Australian Fashion Week - Lisa Ho

Lisa Ho

What better way to open the 10th anniversary of Mercedes Australia Fashion Week than with a Lisa Ho collection? A veteran of the fashion industry, Lisa kicked off the week-long event with a 1970s-inspired show filled with flowing fabrics, vivid prints, strappy stilettos and big, big hair.

In order to fit in with show's glamorous feel, the Sydney Town Hall was transformed to include a tiger-print catwalk, gold vaulted ceilings and a giant crystal chandelier. Models emerged to reveal a beach holiday style complete with exotic dresses, bohemian kaftans, halter necklines, belted waists and one piece, cut-out bathing suits.

As one fashion commentator put it "'lucky is the designer who happens to be in the right place when her stars align'. Lisa Ho is perfectly positioned to enjoy the tropical feeling and resort-style moments that are infusing fashion right now."

Finishing off her jet-set look for next summer, Lisa also unveiled her jewellery collection of rock crystal and semi-precious stone bracelets, pendants and earrings. Although mostly known for her amazing frocks, Lisa topped off the night with Bec Cartright winning best-dressed at the Logies in one of her latest creations.
