Shall we go to Moscow for Inspiration Dior?

I’ve always dreamt of going to Russia, there is something intriguing about their history of Tsar’s, the myth of Princess Anastasia and the famed Faberge eggs. Now there is a more fashionable reason to dream of the trek to Moscow – Inspiration Dior, the exhibition featuring 100 dresses by the French master Christian Dior has just opened at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.

Founded in 1946, Christian Dior lead the fashion industry in Paris until his death in 1957. According to Dior’s description of their preview video (above), Inspiration Dior ‘presents a unique dialogue between major masterpieces that have inspired Christian Dior and the designers that succeeded him and more than sixty years of Dior Haute Couture.’ That list includes the likes of Yves Saint Laurent (1957 – 1960), Marc Bohan (1960 – 89), Gianfranco Ferre (1989 – 97) and John Galliano (1997 – 2011).

Inspiration Dior runs until July 24, 2011.

Thurley S/S 2011-12: Models

Beauty at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week by Kimmi

Pre-Australian Fashion Week has kicked off in earnest and last night we went backstage to Thurley to check out the beauty by Napoleon Perdis. To tie-in with Thurley’s ‘woodsey-nymph’ collection, the make-up was kept simple. It was a clean, polished but slightly undone ready-to-wear beauty look and in my opinion it complimented the beautiful clothes perfectly, rather than overshadow.

Red Sole Wars: Does Christian Louboutin own the coveted red sole?

Posted by in Just asking, News, Shoes

You can see a Christian Louboutin shoe a mile away due to the crimson sole of the shoes, a signature look that Christian Louboutin began applying to all his shoes in 1992 – one year after he started the company.
