Carrie Bradshaw wears 81 outfits in the city

Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Sex and the City the television series inspired many fashion trends and the upcoming movie is set to make even bigger waves.

Carrie Bradshaw is said to have worn 81 outfits. Yes, eighty-one.

In her upcoming appearance on Oprah, SJP lets slip that she went through many outfit changes, with 200 changes between Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

We’ve only seen about 10 different looks on Carrie through paparazzi shots and movie stils, so we’ll have to wait another few weeks before we can see all 81 outfits for ourselves. Let’s just hope we see some amazing combinations unlike this one on the right.

Have you pre-booked your tickets for yourself and your best friends at a cinema near you?

Patricia Field’s Diet Coke City collection bottles

Why do you design when you’ve got your own clothing stores, styled some of today’s most influential women (fashion wise on TV and in movies) and designed a clothing collection for online retailer ASOS? Move on to random things like classic glass Diet Coke bottles.

Selfridges have just released the collection of Diet Coke bottles that Patricia Field created for the Diet Coke for a limited City Collection. Featuring cartoon imagery, the 4 bottles each represent a different part of a woman’s life: gold for career, red for passion, pink for love and turquoise for fashion.

“The designs represent diet Coke as a sexy, sassy brand perfectly compatible with today’s woman,” Field said.

If you want to find out more, Field will be holding a meet-and-greet in Selffridges on Friday May 16 from 12 - 1pm. Buy a bottle and get it signed by the woman who styled the women of Sex and the City.

Field follows in the footsteps of Julian MacDonald, Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Saunders and Manolo Blahnik to create Diet Coke bottles for Coca-Cola Great Britain. Now if only the other Coca-Cola companies would bring the bottles to the rest of the world…

Google gets fashionable with Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana and more

It was only a matter of time before Google got fashionable, after all it’s a brand that has transcended into the world of superbrands (i.e. calling tissues ‘Kleenex’ instead of tissue).

Yesterday Google launched a collection of new themes created by leading artists for iGoogle, Google’s personalized homepage, and within the 60+ artists they collaborated with, there are a few top fashion names in there.

The likes of Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta and Akira Isogawa were asked to create themes, and were joined by the likes of Coldplay, Jeff Koons, Philippe Starck and Tony Burch.

Check out the list of themes here - if you can’t pick just one designer to feature on your Google, the guys have created a sampler theme that rotates through all the themes.

Note that Google didn’t ask Ksubi to create a skin after the boys created a home page that was eerily similar to theirs.

Swarovski Crystal engagement ring / USB flash drive

I recently found my must have engagement ring (which will set some poor soul back over $100k) but for the fashion-aware geeks who haven’t found the ring of their dreams, try this Swarovski Crystal engagement ring on for size.

It’s Swarovski’s latest addition to their Active Crystals collaboration with Phillips, which already has spawned crystal USB hearts, locks and head phones.

These rings also come in necklace form, but we’re definitely prefer the rings. After all once the crystals are removed the rings can be joined and the info your storing on it can be transferred to the other ring. Sort of like a coming together of his and hers things?

We’re not sure the specific details like price and in store dates, but keep your eyes peeled to Swarovski.com and you might be able to buy one online.

Sex and the City Movie: Back in Fashion

“Everything is more expensive and more beautiful”

We’ve all seen the official new trailer for Sex and the City movie, so here’s a little preview featurette which gives you a look at Patricia Field’s costume department. Which basically is a big room filled with racks and racks of clothes, tables upon tables of shoes, bags and accessories. And as Kristen Davis said in the clip - half the products haven’t even hit stores yet!

The Oscars red carpet 2008 - who wore what

Normally I’d be gushing about a dress I loved on the Oscar’s red carpet, but unfortunately not one of them stood out to me!

Who wore your favourite red carpet look?

Did you like the red trend on the red carpet?

My quick thoughts were: Heidi Klum’s custom made Dior dress was a little severe, Miley Cyrus looked very grown up in her red Valentino, Nicole Kidman looked a little awkward in her simple black Balenciaga gown (the bling was a tiny bit OTT), Anne Hathaway looked ok in her red Marchesa (flowers over and under the bust line?!), Amy Adams looked fabulous in Proenza Schouler, if not a little simple, while Cameron Diaz was a little ‘Heidi Klum’s Dior gown from the 2007 Emmy’s’, just in pale pink.

Why didn’t more people wear anyone wear Chanel, Dior, or Armani couture?!

Watch a clip of red carpet interviews by Regis Philbin below, and check out SASSYBELLA.com’s run down of which celebrity wore which designers dress down the red carpet and we’ve even included what beautiful and very expensive jewels they wore.

Paul & Joe team up with Perrier

While Christian Lacroix teams up with Evian, fellow French designers Paul & Joe have teamed up with Perrier for another designer and sparkling-water brand collaboration. The limited edition collection of cans was designed by Sophie Albou, Paul & Joe founder, with the designs inspired by the Paul & Joe collections as well as retro French inspired prints.

“Perrier is well known throughout the world and it’s also a French drink, just as Paul & Joe is a French brand,” Albou said in a statement. “On top of that, Perrier evokes freshness, which is the key word for Paul & Joe - it’s the perfect combination!”

Known for their innovative ad campaigns and ingenious packaging, the Perrier and Paul & Joe partnership was one just waiting to happen. The Paul & Joe for Perrier water is available for a limited time in America (and maybe Europe, I will need to confirm) so keep your eyes peeled!

I wonder now that the French designers are into water, will a Italian designer team up with San Pellegrino?

Tonight I fell I fell in love

I have never been a girl who is in love with her jewels. I can’t afford them - I’m still waiting to receive them as a gift you see.

But tonight my entire diamond outlook changed at a Hardy Brothers Jewellers cocktail party where my friend and I were shown their amazing collection of sparklers. Much like the diamond party in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, we were encouraged to ‘frost ourselves’. So with the help of one of the employees, we tried on rings, tennis bracelets and necklaces.

Now I understand why Marilyn Monroe sung about how diamonds are a girls best friend. The cut, colour, carat and clarity of the diamonds were amazing, and shown off so beautifully in their particular designs. Now I am so very much in love with this Daniel K cushion cut diamond ring.

I would have to mortgage my take out a mortgage to own it, but I did have a few more options of things I adored in store. Like a pendant necklace and diamond studs. It was a wonderful way to spend Valentine’s Day - plus I got a pretty bunch of flowers too.

I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine’s Day today too!

xx
