- You girls obviously love your bags, but what are your favourite clothing and shoe designers at the moment?

Tina: I love Fendi readty to wear, Karl Lagerfeld is genius! Balenciaga is also essential in my wardrobe as are RM by Roland Mouret dresses. I am loyal to one man when it comes to shoes, Christian Louboutin! I have about 30 pairs and growing, no other man captures the sex and chic appeal of shoes than him.

3 Questions with: Jezebel

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

This week we have a chat to Anna at Jezebel.

- Tell us a little about Jezebel?
I think Jezebel is still evolving but my vision for the site is that it serve as an antidote to all the misogynistic, inane, and superficial celebrity gossip and fashion sites out there. We try to cover issues women are interested in (aforementioned celebrity/fashion) but with an edge and a nod to the fact that we know (and our readers know) just how meaningless and ridiculous these topics are in the large scheme of things. We also focus on issues affecting women that aren’t given much play either on the web or in the mainstream media. And although we’re geared towards women, I hear we have some male readers, which of course, we’re thrilled about.

- Who/what are 3 topics or people who you could do without posting about for the next 12 months and why.
I wish there weren’t so many stories about young female celebrities self-destructing - if we could go without posting about Lindsay, Britney, etc. I would be a very happy woman. I’d also love it if there were no stories about girls who hate their bodies and subsequently, hate themselves; the age at which girls begin to feel pressure to look a certain way seems to be getting younger and younger.

3 Questions with: VieCouture

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

This week we have a chat to Vie at VieCouture.com.

- What kind of blog is Vie Couture?
VieCouture is basically a fun and stylish fashion catalogue blog. What you can find here is a blend of daily casual and catwalk extravagant. I aim to make everything fun and easy to read, to look and to collect, but if you ask what my favorite posts are, they have got to be the lingerie, charm bracelets and of course Louboutin shoes! Those are my weakness!

- If you had to wear one fashion label for the rest of your life what would it be?
Just one? I think I’d go for Juicy Couture — they have everything I need!

- If you were stuck on a desert island, what 5 things would you bring with you?
Uh oh that’s a good one! I’d say lipgloss, tanning oil, iPod, fashion mag and cold drinks! ;) gotta have the fun wherever you are, oui?

3 Questions with: Fashionista

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

This week we have a chat to Faran at Fashionista.

- Tell us more about Fashionista
Fashionista started because we couldn’t find a fashion website that we completely loved. We see fashion as a constant discussion, and our aim is to make our readers part of that discussion. Style doesn’t just happen on the runways or the red carpets, and it definitely isn’t confined to the corporate board rooms and the design studios. It happens every time you open your closet. Our aim is to give a voice to that idea.

Our other aim is to use Fashionista to meet hot boys like Adam Brody (whom we did meet, last month).

- What is your favourite job to do for the blog?
I love giving space to new designers on the site, and I love stopping people on the street to discuss their outfits. Reading everyone’s comments is also amazing. I don’t agree with all of them but it’s the greatest compliment to the site that so many people want to get involved in our discussions.

- What do you think is the best and worst thing about the fashion industry?
The best thing is the way that fashion and style can enhance the way people think and feel about themselves and their world.

3 Questions with: Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

This week we have a chat to Catherine at the Red Carpet Fashion Awards.

- Tell us a little about Red Carpet Fashion Awards, why did you start and it what has it grown to?
Red Carpet Fashion Awards is my version of Joan Rivers ‘Live on the Red carpet’, critiquing what celebrities are wearing to events around the world. The blog started prior to the build up to this years Oscars. I was becoming more and more obsessed with what celebrities were wearing, and disagreeing more and more with the so called experts, so I started the blog to give the view of the average girl on the street. It was only meant to focus on the major events such as The Oscars and The Grammy’s, but I soon found that every day is an event in the world of celebrities and fashion. I now post around 4 articles a day.

- Who wore your favourite red carpet outfit of all time? And who designed it?
Cate Blanchett wore an amazing Givenchy Couture dress to the opening of the Berlinale International Film Festival. She was attending her premiere of ‘The Good German’. She is my red carpet Queen. I was blown away with this dress.

3 Questions with: Fashion Verbatim

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

This week we have a chat to Adrian at Fashion Verbatim.

- Tell us a little about Fashion Verbatim
Fashion Verbatim is a cheeky, satirical discourse of the smorgasbord that is fashion. From runway reviews to international street trends, Fashion Verbatim attempts to present all things fashion with a bit of intellect and humour - and a bit of celeb trash for style equilibrium.

- What is the best thing about Canada / Canadian fashion?
The best thing about Canadian fashion is Jeremy Laing. He’s a young, Canadian designer showing in New York. His understanding of construction and his sense of sophistication make him stand out as a true talent. Expect to see big things from this man.

- Who embodies your is your fashion style and why?
The Beatles in their skinny suits period. Kurt Cobain because I’m a product of the 90s. Huckleberry Finn as I always like things to have a boy-ish quality to them.

3 Questions with: CoolChiq

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

This week we have a chat to Petra at CoolChiq.

- Tell us about coolchiq
I would describe coolchiq.com as an independent online fashion magazine. The site covers both local and international fashion events, reviews of fashion shows and exhibitions, and general comments on the fashion world.

- What do you think is the coolest trend to walk the catwalk for A/W 2008?
The futuristic style is fantastic – so versatile, inspiring and innovative. I love the way how Burberry Prorsum took a normal parkas and turned it into a really cool shiny leather coat. You get a really interesting result when mixing raw edges & robust fabrics with more shiny metallic fabrics. I’m also thrilled to see that “the twenties style” (drop waists, straight shapes) was seen on the runway.

- What is the worst trend from the A/W 2008 catwalk?
There are no bad trends as far as I’m concerned. As with trends generally, I think it’s a matter compositions and how you put things together.

3 Questions with: Marianne at Melbourne Runway

Featuring some of SASSYBELLA.com’s favourite bloggers / blogs on the web.

Last week we asked three questions to Andy at Denimology, this week we have a chat to Marianne at Melbourne Runway.

- What was your inspiration for Melbourne Runway?
I lived in Europe for about a year and I became somewhat nostalgic for Melbourne’s sense of style. I had seen other Australian street style photos but I found that they always seemed to capture the more overt and extravagant/kooky side of fashion. With Melbourne Runway, I wanted to capture the ‘quiet’ moments of fashion brilliance.

- What is your favourite thing about Melbourne fashion?
I really admire the youth in Melbourne. I’m often astounded at their level of finesse and their considered approach to fashion. I love that in Melbourne you really have the liberty to wear whatever you want, even though many people do play it safe. I think there’s room for more indulgence! Also, I love that we can really get down and dirty with ‘winter’ wear.

- What is your favourite trend of the upcoming season?
For A/W 2007, it’s all about beautiful jackets. My pick is a Balenciaga inspired peaked/rounded blazer. I’ll also continue Spring/Summer’s trend with the shorter hemline with sweaters, cardi’s and shirt tunics (as dresses) with leggings. A trend that I’d love to adopt more of is the play with fabrications… neoprene, coated materials etc. have this delicious liquid appeal.

P.S. Marianne also has a radio program, also called Melbourne Runway, and she’s done a Q&A with me! So if you’re in Melbourne listen in on SYN 90.7 or it is streamed online at www.syn.org.au.
