Sassy Item of the Day: Zac Posen Tartan Bodysuit for Wolford

Zac Posen Tartan Bodysuit for Wolford

Love it because: Surfing Wolford is my guilty pleasure. I can never seem to afford anything (and when I can nothing is ever left in my size) but I love it nonetheless. And this just gave me extra reason as to why. The designer collaborations are always of high quality (Vivienne Westwood, Missioni, Posen) and the items are always luxurious and leave me wishing I could pull off a certain look.

That very feeling came across me when I saw this Posen tartan bodysuit, it’s boyleg cut and plunging V looks so fabulous paired with that puff sleeved white shirt I would be tempted to walk out of the house just like that.

Price: Down 50% from AUD$1229 to $614.50 (approx USD$575).

The news reports are wrong

Now my Australian visitors may know that I have been accused of being a bitchy gossip blogger about the magazine industry (or hacking the blog in question).

But I want to clear up a few facts:

  • While The Daily Telegraph said I was an ACP Intern, I wasn’t. I did work experience for a week back in 2003 or 2004. I don’t think I garnered enough gossip or contacts to write a whole blog (or a job).
  • I did work in magazines, but for a women’s magazine which focused on warm stories and had a celebrity free policy. I left in December last year and haven’t worked in magazines since.
  • My current full time job is not in magazines.
  • None of my friends were on Merrick & Rosso this morning.
  • I wouldn’t know how to hack a website. Ok so I blog, but do I know understand the fine art of hacking? No.
  • And if you all don’t believe me, while the gossip blog in question was being “un-hacked“, I was out having fun with friends with no access to the computer. I’m sure any of the four people I was having dinner with will happily say I was sitting in a Thai restaurant for most of the night.

Please journalists, before you point the finger ask me or do some googling.

You would have to be a magazine insider to pen that blog, and unfortunately, I’m not.

The Henry Holland Fashion Easter Egg

Chocolate and fashion fans have another choice of Easter egg this season. Following the Armani’s Dolci Easter chocolates collection, young British design Henry Holland has created a one off ‘Fashion-Easter Egg’ for chocolatier, Thorntons.

The 1kg milk chocolate egg features the Holland family coat-of-arms decorated in purple, pink, yellow, green and turquoise icing.

The Henry Holland ‘Fashion-Easter Egg’ will be auctioned on eBay.co.uk next week to raise money for Barnardo’s, a children’s charity.

– Good thing the proceeds of the egg’s sale is going to charity, it looks like Holland sat at a table one day and decorated it all by hand. Which is cute… I guess.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, authors

Ashley Olsen just told WWD yesterday that Mary-Kate was focusing on her acting while Ashley worked full time on their The Row range, but it seems the sisters are working on something else.

A fashion coffee table book.

Set to be called, Influence, the book will include exclusive photographs of the sisters taken by world renowned photographer Rankin “and a wide variety of other never-before-seen materials and interviews from Mary-Kate and Ashley’s personal collections,” according to a statement issued by the book’s publisher, Penguin.

“Mary-Kate and I have filled ‘Influence’ with the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know - the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation,” said Ashley.

Gemma Ward and co-stars at The Black Balloon premiere

Gemma Ward made her first public appearance in a while at the Sydney premiere of her first movie, The Black Balloon. Wearing a gorgeous halter neck gown by Melbourne designer, Toni Maticevski, Gemma glowed on the red carpet with her blonde locks loose and flowing with a pop of red on her lips.

Pictured above with Elissa Down (Director), Luke Ford, and Rhys Wakefield, she took the opportunity to stay in Australia to celebrate the already critically acclaimed movie (did we mention that the movie won a Crystal Bear award?)

She told Chic Report that she prepared for the role by going back to her own teenage years.

“I actually read all my old diary journal entries that I wrote when I was 15 years old!” she said. “I also listened to ’90s music (i.e. MC Hammer) to bring myself back to that time. Hanging out with my twin brothers and being a tomboy helped free myself up a bit and help me relate more closely with Jackie.”

But hang on a second, wasn’t Gemma on the Milan and Paris runways for Prada when she was 15?

Paul & Joe team up with Perrier

While Christian Lacroix teams up with Evian, fellow French designers Paul & Joe have teamed up with Perrier for another designer and sparkling-water brand collaboration. The limited edition collection of cans was designed by Sophie Albou, Paul & Joe founder, with the designs inspired by the Paul & Joe collections as well as retro French inspired prints.

“Perrier is well known throughout the world and it’s also a French drink, just as Paul & Joe is a French brand,” Albou said in a statement. “On top of that, Perrier evokes freshness, which is the key word for Paul & Joe - it’s the perfect combination!”

Known for their innovative ad campaigns and ingenious packaging, the Perrier and Paul & Joe partnership was one just waiting to happen. The Paul & Joe for Perrier water is available for a limited time in America (and maybe Europe, I will need to confirm) so keep your eyes peeled!

I wonder now that the French designers are into water, will a Italian designer team up with San Pellegrino?

The Black Balloon staring Gemma Ward wins Berlin Film Festival award

Gemma Ward has been spotted around Sydney looking rather unmodel-like in a “tres dorky” outfit. rumour has it it’s because she’s due to walk down the red carpet for the Sydney premier of her first movie, The Black Balloon, on Wednesday.

The coming of age movie staring Gemma Ward, Toni Collette, Rhys Wakefield, and Luke Ford won a Crystal Bear award for best feature by the Generation14plus section’s jury of young film buffs at the recent Berlin Film Festival.

“We were especially impressed by the way in which joyous and serious moments were expertly interwoven, and also by the actors’ excellent performances,” the jury said.
