Vogue Germany June 2008 - Get Claudia Schiffer’s cleavage

This is a perfect example of how to make the most of the boobs you’ve got. If Claudia Schiffer can create the illusion of a full chest on the cover of Vogue Germany’s June 2008 Sex issue, what’s stopping you?

Just in case you’re wondering, yes the entire issue is dedicated to sex and other sexy things. I suppose the fact that Claudia is topless probably gives that away…

Check out scans from the issue here. Be warned, this is another link where you might not want to surf while at work.

A motley crew for Numero 93

Aptly titled The End of Innocence, Numero issue 93 (May 2008) has gathered some up and coming names for this motley crew shoot.

Karlie Kloss, Abbey Lee, and Georgina Stojiljkovic were joined by a very paint covered male model in this shoot that mixes flirty mini dresses with a rough-around-rocky-the-edges made up model. He must have spent more time in the make-up artists chair than the girls did combined!

The contrasts are rather intriguing in this rather unexpected combination. Or have I been reading too mainstream magazines for too long?

As expected, Sarah Jessica Parker lands the cover of Vogue

Sex and the City the movie just premiered in London, which is due it cinemas in two weeks and the stars even filmed inside the Vogue offices. So really one would have expected this US Vogue cover, timed to perfection of course.

Sarah Jessica Parker was photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the June 2008 cover of US Vogue, which left us wondering just a few things.

  • Did the art department leave all the lines on SJP’s face, or just a few? (Though, we’re glad there are some considering the amount of botox ladies these days)
  • Who’s legs is she sitting in? Big (aka Chris Noth)?
  • Why wasn’t this a shared cover with the rest of the SATC girls? It’s not all about Carrie Bradshaw.
  • And is that smouldering look she’s trying to pull off?

What are your thoughts on this cover?

Nina Garcia doesn’t need Elle, she has Mode

Are you wondering where Elle’s Fashion Director, Nina Garcia, will pop up next after questions of her recent departure from the magazine?

Well she doesn’t need Elle when she has followed Project Runway 4 winner, Christian Siriano all the way to the offices of Mode magazine on Ugly Betty. It’s fierce. Watch out for little Amanda hiding behind the models all wearing original Christian Siriano designs.

P.S. This clip comes fresh after the news that Elle editor in chief Robbie Myers and Joe Zee will appear on Ugly Betty too in the season 2 finale. Word has it that they will be at the charity softball game between Elle and Mode magazine with Naomi Campbell appearing as a designated hitter while Wilhemina Slater, played by Vanessa Williams, will be a pitcher.

Hello Kitty in Vogue - the pictures

Imagine being famous and then asked by Japanese Vogue is they could photograph your first trip to Japan while wearing John Galliano for Dior’s designs.

As we reported last week Hello Kitty, the popular cartoon cat, did just that in the June 2008 issue of Vogue Nippon. The cute kitty went shopping, became friends with many big fashion names and modeled every piece from the Dior fall winter 2008/09 collection.

Perhaps we’ll see Hello Kitty front row at Dior next season…

See below for more pictures.

Hello Kitty scores a Vogue Nippon spread

Japanese Vogue is teaming up with Sanrio so the world’s most popular cat, Hello Kitty, can appear in the pages of the fashion bible.

While Hello Kitty may not look like a supermodel, she does have a certain appeal. But how will she look in John Galliano for Dior designs? The editorial spread will see the cartoon cat enjoying a shopping spree in Paris

“Of course this is the first time the historic fashion house of Dior has had a cartoon character model their entire collection,” said an official at Conde Nast Japan, publishers of Vogue Nippon. “Japanese animation and characters have been a strong influence on the fashion world in the last few seasons, but Kitty is special. Fashion people all know her name and face and always say they love her. That’s why we at Vogue wanted to do something involving her.”

The spread will appear in the June issue of Vogue Nippon, on sale April 26 with Stella Tennant on the cover (wearing Comme des Garcon).

Vogue Espana celebrate 20 years with four Kate Moss covers

Vogue Espana are celebrating their 20th anniversary much like Vogue Paris did one Christmas - with four different Kate Moss covers.

Their May 2008 issue features photographs of Moss taken by Nick Knight - the model/photographer pairing which always results in some amazing shoots. Stars were obviously the theme for the shoot with Mosswearing a Chanel star print jump suit on one cover, and a Yves Saint laurent white satin star print dress on another.

Vogue Espana is often an unheralded international editon of Vogue, they’re one of the branches of Vogue which have started to shoot their own covers in the last 3 – 5 years… glad to see they’ve gone one step further with their 20th anniversary issue.

Happy Birthday!

Stephanie Seymour Brant, supermodel now fashion editor

Interview magazine has just announced a new staff member in the form of nineties supermodel, Stephanie Seymour Brant.

The wife of Brant Publications chairman, Peter Brant, has been named a contributing fashion editor for the magazine founded by Any Warhol in 1969.

This isn’t Seymour Brant’s first foray into the publishing world, aside from appearing in over 300 magazine covers, one of the current faces of Louis Vuitton published her first book, Stephanie Seymour’s Beauty Secrets for Dummies in 1998.

It should be interesting how much of an influence Seymour Brant has over the look and feel of the fashion shoots at Interview.

I wonder if she will end up in front of the camera as well as working behind it.

Kate Moss reads poetry for Nick Knight

Remember late last year V magazine asked people from all over the world to send flowers for a Kate Moss photoshoot?

Well the images from the Wildflower photoshoot by Nick Knight hit newsstands last month in the 52nd issue of V magazine (with Gwen Stefani on the cover). While the images looked great, it seems that none of the flowers made the spread. What happened to them all?

While we don’t know what happened to the flowers, we now know that Knight had created something way more interesting with Kate Moss for his devoted website visitors - a film created by the Shoe Studio team which blends Kate’s silhouette with swirls, colour and the sound of her voice reading out Roddy Lumsden’s poem, Bloom.

Watch it here

How hypnotic.
