Get Katherine Heigl’s Zac Posen white dress from the Emmy’s

Anyone who’s a fan of Zac Posen is probably scheming up ways to get their hands on pieces from the Zac Posen for Target Australia collection - especially the limited edition version of Katherine Heigl’s much-adored white Emmy dress.

The white-denim dress was never sold in retail outlets and was just a one-off design. But it has since been reproduced with the Zac Posen tag for Target Australia. Set to retail for AUD$299 it will be available in red and black (pictured above right), though with only 50 pieces created and they’re probably going to be tough to get your hands on, so here’s another option for anyone who’s not located in Australia (or willing to queue up on April 3).

eDressMe have an exact copy of the white Zac Posen gown complete with a fitted bodice, fishtail skirt and off the shoulder straps. It would be a great wedding dress or a debutante / prom dress if you want to look like the belle of the ball.

Kate Hudson dons a sexy white shirt-black skirt combo

Kate Hudson recently attended the Glamour Reel Moments party last week which premiered short films Kirsten Dunst, Rita Wilson and Kate herself directed. With this year’s movies themed around Happiness, Kate was a perfect poster girl for it, glowing in a simple black and white combo. The pleating detail in the highwaisted skirt and cross over-slightly disheveled looking white blouse with thick cuffs gave her a fabulously light-hearted look.

Get Kate’s look with a Victoria’s Secret French cuff shirt (top row left) or a Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti Ruched front shirt (top row right), and pair it with a 3.1 Phillip Lim Linen blend tulip skirt (bottom row left) or a Witchery Linen Rayon Button Casual Skirt (bottom row right).

Find out more about Kate, Kirsten and Rita’s short films here.

Luxe to Less: White shirts

Who would have ever imagined that the Gap and Vogue would have put the focus back on white shirts again. With Vogue’s Next Top Model’s wearing a piece from the Gap and CFDA designers white shirts, we thought we’d do a Luxe to Less featuring white shirts. While researching this, we found so many beautiful white shirts for every individual that we had to feature 8. See them all after the fold.

Above L - R: Viktor & Rolf ruffle collar blouse £319.15, Luella Costello oversized tuxedo shirt £314.89, Rebecca Taylor white pintuck voile tunic $139, FCUK polka top $68.

Luxe to less - panel coloured dresses

When I saw the Derek Lam beaded cocktail dress (pictured above left) I knew it would be perfect for a cocktail function. If I ever had to opportunity to attend one and if I had £2,068.09 to spare. But the dress would be worth it. The knee length silk dress with its coloured panels and beaded bust adds a bit of grown up sophistication. The empire line is hot this season and the pleating will hide any body bumps you haven’t worked off at the gym.

Similar to the Derek Lam dress is TD by Tufi Duek blue x-back halter jersey dress (pictured above middle). At $159.99 it is a much cheaper option. With similar panel detail and empire line, the dress is definitely a little more casual and great for a day out with the girls.

Last but not least is this Colorblock dress from Gap (pictured above right). It a stunning shade of blue, this dress comes with a smocked empire waist and colorblock panels at neckline and hem. It’s definitely well worth the $59.50 that the Gap are selling it for.

Luxe to less: Red shoes

All Dorothy from a Wizard of Oz had to do was click her sparkly red shoes as she wished to go home. I’m not sure the same thing will apply to these shoes, but I’m sure you can give it a go with these fire engine red patent leather heels.First up and the most luxe is a pair of shoes I have been lusting after for years now, the Glare Shoe by Beatrix Ong. The round-toe and Mary-Jane style strap is just too adorable to pass up. They’re approximately $411.60 from My-Wardrobe.com. A little cheaper than the Glare shoes, is the Lotus Leather Peep Toe Patent Mary Jane Shoe from ASOS and have been marked down to approximately $145.86. The heel is thicker than the Glare’s and would look fantastic with a pair of dark jeans.

Next up is a classic round-toe pump, these platform heels from Victoria’s Secret will brighten up your day for only $60. Then get taller for less with these Mossimo Slingbacks in paprika for only $24.99 - these are great if you’re not sure if patent leather, especially in red, is your thing. You don’t have to fork out much so if you don’t like them next season, the price won’t dent the bank balance much.

Luxe to less: Catherine Malandrino silk panel skirts

This is another slightly different Luxe to Less. After surfing around BlueFly.com (as I do constantly in hope of finding some stunning and at a bargain price) I came across these super pretty silk panel skirts from Catherine Malandrino.

Made with beautiful silk crepe material, and topped off with a satin waistband with stitch detail panels the aquamarine skirt has been marked down by 79% from $330 to $69.99, while the champagne skirt is $103.99,

Which one do you like better? I love the champagne coloured one – much more versatile. Even if it is $30 more expensive.

Luxe to less: Black lace cocktail dresses for all body shapes

A little spin on the luxe to less with some beautiful lace trimmed cocktail dresses marked down by up to 40% off their retail price. Lace trimmed dresses are perfect for functions with a “cocktail” dress code or a school formal or prom. Lotta Stensson has three that are perfect for all different body shapes – unless you have a perfect model like body.

Take the Lotta Stensson black lace double v-neck ‘Chic’ dress for example, it would look absolutely sexy on an hourglass body or someone with a large bust with the empire waist and delicate lace trim making your womanly curves seem softer. It’s been marked down to $179, from $300.

The Lotta Stensson black lace trim jersey babydoll dress is a good choice for a woman with a small bust or is small in stature. The lace trim jersey babydoll dress will soften your look and add subtle curves. This is practically a steal at $108, down from $180.

Men beware if you see a woman wearing this Lotta Stensson black lace strapless tube dress on, especially if she has curves. The sheer lace strip at the bottom of the dress will add a bit of a midnight-mistress feel to this sweet but sexy number. Marked down to $165 from $275, it’s a dress you could wear over and over again.

Denim shorts on sale at My-Wardrobe.com

I love jeans, I do. I am currently loving my Sass & Bide’s, 7 For all Mankind’s and a pair of Bec and Bridge’s (on sale at Bracewell – and they only had my size left! It was fate). So of course I was surfing around and end up on My-Wardrobe… who have some gorgeous denim shorts I really really want. This whole surfing the internet thing had started out as a Luxe to Less piece, but since they’re all so cheap and had been marked down by so much I’d buy them all

Left to right: Denim Long Shorts by Ann-Louise Roswald would be perfect city shorts for casual and work wear with the length and turned up cuffs. Denim Shorts by See by Chloe, well they’re Chloe and they’re marked down. Need I say more? Ok ok. This would be a perfect pair of shorts for a beach babe where the colour of the denim would compliment any tan. Last but not least is the Slouch Shorts by Radcliffe Denim, now I really really really want these. The dark blue colour with rolled up cuffs and adjustable pull tabs at the waist to allow for the shorts to sit higher or lower on the hips.

Right. I better hide my credit card and let the store sell out of my size (so if anyone is a size 26″ waist, please shop up).
