Heidi Klum by Jordache - can you spot the Project Runway host?

She may judge fashion designers on Project Runway, but Heidi Klum has her own line of premium denim with Jordache and popped into Bloomingdales last week to launch the collection. But when the models are looking alarmingly similar to you, pouts, hair and all, wouldn’t you be a bit worried?

The Heidi Klum by Jordache collection is stocked exclusively in Bloomingdales with jeans customized to fit every body type and finished with Heidi’s signature clover emblem, intricate inseam stitching and detailed belt looks. Denim aside the spring summer 2008 collection featuring embellished jeweled tops, silk chamois blouses with rosette appliqués and hand-beaded knits.

The collection is set to retail at the almost-affordable price of $140 to $298.

Question is, what ever happened to the lawsuit Van Cleef & Arpel had against Klum using the clover shape as her “emblem” as the release called it?

Cheap Monday part of a slew of Swedish brands acquired by H&M

H&M now own 60% of Fabric Scandinavien, which is a great partnership when you consider that Cheap Monday has a cult following, almost like H&M’s own target market. The Swedish fast fashion giant reportedly paid 564 million Swedish crowns ($91.5 million) for its new acquisition, which also includes brands like Weekday, Monki and Sunday Sun.

“We see potential to develop stores and concepts in other markets,” H&M chief executive Rolf Eriksen said “By working together we can accelerate the growth further. We can also do it in a more efficient manner by drawing on H&M’s experience and knowledge of production, logistics and establishment.”

Could this mean Cheap Monday will be available in H&M now, making them more readily available all over the world?

Sienna Miller is in the center off Pepe Jeans airline law suit

Pepe Jeans are suing Jet Set Private Air Server for their inability to fly Sienna Miller from London to New Jersey airport last year for a photoshoot in 2004 for the denim brand.

According to reports, Pepe Jeans are demanding $160,000 for the flight and other unspecified costs.

“Pepe Jeans was forced to expend additional resources to find and use a replacement model, although its ongoing ad campaign was premised on Ms. Miller’s participation,” the lawsuit read. “Hiring a replacement model at the last minute was costly but necessary, given the circumstances.”

Pepe Jeans said that Jet Set did initially offer to refund the denim brand for the cost of the flight but so far the money has not changed hands.

Meanwhile, the Pepe Jeans and Miller partnership has blossomed into Twenty8Twelve, the clothing line Sienna started with her sister Savannah. She has since been replaced as the face of the brand by Ashton Kutcher and Daria Werbowy.

Would you go old school with Levis 501?

Before the likes of Sass & Bide, 7 For All Mankind, Earnest Sewn, and True Religon were big brands on the denim scene, there was only one brand that everyone turned to for their denim needs. Levis.

The Levis 501 style was so versatile and open to self distressing - they were cut, torn, razored, bleached and customized - and were a staple item for people like Mick Jagger, Andy Warhol, Madonna and the cast of Beverly Hills 90210. Paired with t-shirts, it was the quintessential all-American-look.

Now Levis is bring back their iconic 501 style (as seen on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway 4) in a faded sun worn wash, reminiscent to the faded wash from the 1990s.

Brooke Shields for Calvin Klein Jeans the television ads (from 1980 - 1981)

Since you all loved the vintage Maybelline television commercials I went digging and found two more gems. This time they star Brooke Shields in the very television commercials that made her a famous model in her teens. If you didn’t see the ads the first time around, here they are.

In the first commercial from 1980 (above), she’s rambling about genes and jeans… Warning: You may be a little too mesmerized watching Brooke slip into her jeans to pay much attention to what she’s saying!

In the second one from 1981 (below), she’s “Cal” (beautiful) + “vin” (conquer) = “I’ve been Calvinized”.

Cute? You be the judge.

Fit and lift your behind with a Milk & Honey denim “bum bra”

We lift, fit, tuck, and cinch in every other part of our bodies, so why not our butt’s? Australian fashion label, Milk & Honey have released their Sweet Cheeks fit system, where you purchase jeans on an A or a B fit for your derriere.

  • An A Fit is for women who are: straight-up-and-down, boyish, neat deriere, narrow-hipped, little tooshie, string-bean, rectangular.
  • An B Fit is for women who are: curvy, bootylicious, round, baby’s got back, rubensque, hourglass, womanly, voluptuous.

This new way of sizing jeans could revolutionize fashion sizing, as designers sometimes don’t factor in a woman’s larger booty or her bigger chest when designing certain shapes. Case in point, the strapless dress designs look fantastic on a skinny model on the runway, but would not look good on a rounder woman in real life.

The Sweet Cheeks Fit System by Milk and Honey is the brain child of Sydney designer Gill Milligan who mimicked bra sizing. “It’s the bra for your bum,” Mrs Milligan said told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph. “Like you have a 10A or 10B in a bra you have a 10A or 10B in these jeans.”
