Carrie Bradshaw wears 81 outfits in the city

Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Sex and the City the television series inspired many fashion trends and the upcoming movie is set to make even bigger waves.

Carrie Bradshaw is said to have worn 81 outfits. Yes, eighty-one.

In her upcoming appearance on Oprah, SJP lets slip that she went through many outfit changes, with 200 changes between Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

We’ve only seen about 10 different looks on Carrie through paparazzi shots and movie stils, so we’ll have to wait another few weeks before we can see all 81 outfits for ourselves. Let’s just hope we see some amazing combinations unlike this one on the right.

Have you pre-booked your tickets for yourself and your best friends at a cinema near you?

Michelle Trachtenberg’s got a jewelry line called Bella Veritas?

Yup, you read it right, the actress that is currently guest staring in Gossip Girl has been dabbling in the world of jewelry design as well as blogging about her days on the set of the popular TV drama for Cosmopolitan.

It was way back in late 2006 when Michelle Trachtenberg launched her Bella Veritas jewelry collection; which is made up of hand-made pieces created with semi-precious stones and feature silver charms in the shape of handcuffs, skulls and guns, hearts, Buddha icons and four leaf clovers.

And it seems that she will plug it any way she can since she hasn’t held back on talking about Bella Veritas (Latin for beautiful truth) on her Cosmo blog, with Trachtenberg letting readers know all about her hobby:

But I have to admit, the item I’m most excited to wear is the black onyx gold skull necklace from my own jewelry line, “Bella Veritas.” I started making necklaces as a side hobby and really just for fun (anyone who knows me will tell you I can’t sit still!). Slowly but surely after passing my necklaces out as gifts to my friends I decided to take my necklace making show on the road! Every piece is one of a kind, hand made by me. I use semi precious stones l tourmalines, peridots, amethyst, topaz, garnets etc. And they have an awesome little charm to add some extra bling. I also make bracelets because I think you can never stop layering your jewels! And really, who doesn’t love to add some sparkle to their outfits?!

It sure comes in handy when you have a collaboration deal with the star of one of the hottest movies to be released this year. Nina Garcia doesn’t need Elle, she has Mode

Are you wondering where Elle’s Fashion Director, Nina Garcia, will pop up next after questions of her recent departure from the magazine?

Well she doesn’t need Elle when she has followed Project Runway 4 winner, Christian Siriano all the way to the offices of Mode magazine on Ugly Betty. It’s fierce. Watch out for little Amanda hiding behind the models all wearing original Christian Siriano designs.

P.S. This clip comes fresh after the news that Elle editor in chief Robbie Myers and Joe Zee will appear on Ugly Betty too in the season 2 finale. Word has it that they will be at the charity softball game between Elle and Mode magazine with Naomi Campbell appearing as a designated hitter while Wilhemina Slater, played by Vanessa Williams, will be a pitcher.

Hello Kitty in Vogue - the pictures

Imagine being famous and then asked by Japanese Vogue is they could photograph your first trip to Japan while wearing John Galliano for Dior’s designs.

As we reported last week Hello Kitty, the popular cartoon cat, did just that in the June 2008 issue of Vogue Nippon. The cute kitty went shopping, became friends with many big fashion names and modeled every piece from the Dior fall winter 2008/09 collection.

Perhaps we’ll see Hello Kitty front row at Dior next season…

See below for more pictures.

Frances Bean Cobain for Chanel?

Celebrity spawn turned model seems to be the fashion trend of the moment. Just look like Lou Doillon, Daisy Lowe, Coco Summer and Dakota Johnson.

Now there are reports (albeit from the Daily Mail) that the 15-year-old daughter and Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain is wanted by Karl Lagerfeld to appear in his next advertising campaign.

“She’s only young, but there’s a lot of interest in Frances,” a friend revealed to the Daily Mail. “She is incredibly pretty and has the most perfect porcelain skin. She and her mother are having talks with Karl about Frances appearing in his next ad campaign.”

But Courtney Love is not loving the idea of her teenage daughter pursuing a career in fashion.

“Courtney is concerned about Frances pursuing a catwalk career at such a young age, so she has been involved in all the talks so far,” the source said.

Kate Hudson models for David Babali for Wild Aid

Some celebrities front advertising campaigns for the money while some font them because they believe in the cause. Kate Hudson can probably be slotted in with the latter group.

The bubbly blonde has chosen to use her star power to front the advertising campaign for David Babali’s natural hair care collection for Wild Aid.

Wild Aid is an organisation that protects endangered species around the world, hence why Kate was photographed surrounded by adorable lion cubs. The haircare collection was created with Kate with natural ingredients that are free of sulphates, parabens, animal products and animal testing.

The air care collection is due in stores in the coming months.

Claire Danes takes over from Drew Barrymore at Gucci Jewellery

Claire Danes has never fronted a high end advertising campaign, but all that is about to change with the Romeo & Juliet actress taking over from Drew Barrymore as the face of Gucci Jewellery.

“Claire Danes is a modern icon and one of the most interesting young actresses on the international scene. Claire’s sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent and strong character embodies today’s Gucci woman,” said Gucci creative director Frida Giannini.

Danes is equally as excited, saying: “Frida is a very inspiring and creative woman. Her vision is extraordinary and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin the campaign is due to break this fall.

Are you looking forward to seeing the results?

Heidi Klum says America wants her to dress them

One of the challenges Heidi Klum has set for Project Runway contestants has been to redesign US Postal uniforms in season 1, and according to the show’s host, America wants her to redesign their work uniform.

“I go to the same Starbucks every day in Beverly Hills and they’re like, ‘Can you please tell them that we want to have new outfits?’” Heidi said recently. “I sit in American Airlines, same thing. I get it all the time. Those chains or big companies, they always come to me. It would be fun, because so many people would see the results.”

While it’s a cute idea to have Heidi Klum design your work uniform, what experience would she have in fashion design?

More importantly, would Nina Garcia and Michael Kors like it?

I sincerely hope the quote has been misquoted and Starbucks and American Airlines workers don’t want Heidi herself to design their uniforms. Especially with the Van Cleef & Arpels lawsuit against her jewelery designs.
