Are you looking forward to the vibrating mascara?

Just when you thought make up and technology couldn’t do more for you, it can. In the form of a vibrating mascara which promises to separate lashes and avoid clumping.

Word of the Estee Lauder TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara (set to retail in the US for $30) and Lancome’s Oscillation Mascara flew around web and had everyone is quite a state (of either excitement, bewilderment or just plain amusement).

Estee Lauder’s mascara is due out next month, exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue, while Lancome’s vibrating mascara is due out a few months later.

Like any motorized gadget, we’d like to share a few of Oscillation’s “specs”.

Its brush reportedly vibrates 7,000 times per minute, which will give you 360-degree coverage around each lash. Just imagine the coverage. It was developed by the mascara master, Jean-Louis Guéret, who has developed almost 400 mascaras in his lifetime.

Goodness, there are that many mascaras around?

So, would you dare put the vibrating mascara near your eye? Just the Lancome product shot alone has me thinking no thanks.

A battery operated mascara? It sounds like a late April fools joke, doesn’t it?

I honestly cant see how this is going to help me doing anything other than poke myself in the eye easier.
