Zac Posen designs a collection for Target Australia

Zac Posen has dressed some of Hollywood’s most glamorous women, from Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts and Lucy Liu, and now he’ll be dressing Australian women with his Fall 2008 Designers for Target collaboration for Target Australia.
“This range allows my clothes to be worn by a new customer, and I’m particularly happy that this could occur in Australia,” Posen said in a statement.
This is the first high street collaboration Posen has done, and he’s bringing his stunning red carpet looks to Target Australia. Remember the pretty Posen white fishtail dress Katherine Heigl wore to last year’s Emmy Awards? Well it has been recreated for his Target collection in black and red for only AUD$299.99 - though only 50 pieces will be created.
The Zac Posen for Target Australia collection is comprised of two collections, Tailored and Glamour (pictures below), with tailored high-waisted pants and asymmetrical skirts, structured satin draped tops and cocktail dresses. Prices range from $49.99 for a belt to $299.99 for the Heigl dress.

The collection will be available in only 75 of the 276 Target stores around Australia.
Posen followed in the footsteps of Stella McCartney and Josh Goot who designed collections for Target Australia last year. The Zac Posen for Target Australia collection will hit selected Target stores on April 3.

i LOVE the Katherine Heigl dress in red - stunning. Much more wearable since it doesn’t look so much like a wedding dress. I wish I could be in Australia in April to make the most of Posen for Target.

If only I needed a ball gown! I will be certainly trying it on though!
There are a number of pieces I would like to add to my wardrobe. The black pleat pants with matching jacket and possibly skirt. The silk bow shirt in white and red. The Ponti dress and also perhaps the Ottoman dress.
I’m impressed! Though the accessories are hideous and a couple of the items are not super wearable. There is one drapey dress that even makes the model look big! As do the brown version of the wide leg pants.

I want the Heigl dress!! Why isn’t this going to be released in the US too????

So Kate, do that mean you might go to Target again and perhaps get your picture taken by Getty and the papers?
I agree that some of the items will just make a woman’s upper body look huge - they already make the slim model look wider, goodness knows how it would look like on a non-size 8?

I hope they choose the Bondi Junction store as the media store this time!

I’m so jealous! We get Jovovich-Hawk for Target and Australian’s get Zac Posen and Stella McCartney! Give us Posen and McCartney any day - I wish they would bring the Posen collection to the US too.

I’ve checked out some Jovovick-hawk pieces on the website and they are very cute!
One big difference between Oz Designers for Target and the US version is that ours have a much higher price point. Most of the items in the Jovovich-Hawk capsule are around $30. Most of ours are $130!

Eh, I’ll just stroll into Target in three months time and still find some Posen stuff on the racks. That’s what happpened with McCartney’s collection. Ridiculous rush the first day then 30 or 40 pieces left on the racks in my local store months later because they didn’t fit or people changed their minds. Plus, they were made in Vietnam, not exactly expert craftmanship!
