GQ launched in France with Vincent Cassel

Stare at the launch issue of French GQ and you’re sure to burst out laughing.

Photographed by David Bailey, the cover has actor Vincent Cassel sporting a rather prominent moustache. If you think Cassel looks familiar, you might remember him from the George Clooney and Brad Pitt hits, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen as François Toulour.

French GQ seems to be channeling Magnum PI, aka Tom Selleck with that moustache.

Scary.

It’s taken 50 years, but GQ has finally launched in France with even British (1988), Italy (1997) and Russia (2000) beating France to the punch. The March 2008 launch edition will cost only 1€ with the cover price set to rise to 3.40€ for the following issues.

I wonder who is the Editor… Carine Roitfeld probably doesn’t have anything to do with this title, after all she does over see Vogue Hommes International.
