Jovovich-Hawk for Target – first images!

The first highly anticipated images of Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk’s collection for Target have been scanned on to the web. Harpers Bazaar was the first to print pictures from the Jovovich-Hawk for Target collection which looks set to follow the duo’s signature vintage feel aesthetic.

According to an interview with the LA Times last September, Jovovich said “Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints. We took the things that sold the best for us but we’re doing it on a bigger scale. ”

The collection for Target’s Go International initiative will launch in Target America stores and on their website on March 2nd with a special promotional video to be launched during New York Fashion Week FW08/09 next month.

I like where it’s heading, but I’m not sure I like these pieces. Jovovich Hawk usually make beautifully fashion forward but still vintage inspired pieces, and this doesn’t do it for me.

I like the shorts. The detailing is cute. I wouldn’t buy the smock personally, but I’m sure many will love it.

I also will most likely buy up her collection. Even if I wouldn’t wear the shorts to lunch, I’d certainly wear them at home, picnics, to the beach ect. I’m really encouraged by the tunic. I’m crossing my fingers and toes that the collection will contain some really cute dresses and that the sizing will be like the Patrick Robinson collection! Roomy enough for comfort!
