Diane von Furstenberg won’t be doing a high street line

She’s designed a collection for Barbie, as well as Sidekick covers and is branching into shoes soon, but Diane von Furstenberg won’t be branching into the high street collaborations any time soon.

According to StyleHive, the popular American designer recently said in an interview that “I encourage people to do that [create collections for high street stores]. I think it is very good that those mass merchandisers are using designers. It’s good that they respect the value of that.”

But she’s not interested in taking part in the mass market game, saying that “well my price point is high. I don’t know. Right now I am not going to do that.”

While it is sad news for DVF fans who want to buy her gorgeous dresses for less than $50, I don’t think that low quality jersey would really look good on anyone no matter whose designs it was.
