Before the likes of Paris Hilton and Scarlett Johansson started appearing on the catwalks of Heatherette and Imitation of Christ respectively, Claire Danes was asked to model for Cynthia Rowley in the mid 1990s.

“My first fashion show was Cynthia Rowley, and I was in it,” Danes said told the International Herald Tribune. “She asked me to be in it. I was 16, and about to shoot ‘Romeo and Juliet.’

“The show was organized so that there were two models on the runway at once, and being the silly girl that I was, I waved at the model coming toward me. Very quickly I figured out that was not what was expected of me. So in the next outfit I behaved like a model, looking suitably bored and irritated.”

While she wasn’t a big star around 1995, Danes did co-star in Little Women with the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon and Christian Bale, and in How to Make an American Quilt.

Soon after Danes was wearing Miu Miu, was introduced to Narciso Rodriguez all before she turned 17!
