Michael Stipe, R.E.M’s lead singer, models Marc Jacobs

In a rather unusual twist, Marc Jacobs has selected R.E.M’s lead singer, Michael Stipe, as the face of his fall winter 2007/08 men’s wear collection.
Known for selecting artists he admires to front his advertising campaigns, it’s not surprising that Jacobs has chosen Stipe to join his celebrity campaigns which has featured the diverse line up which includes Dakota Fanning, Winona Ryder, and Meg White.
The pictures, photographed by Juergen Teller, are definitely a talk point with the 90s rock star sports electric blue pants in one, while in another picture he actually looks nice as he smiles for the cameras in a yellow knit.

Boy he’s hairy, nice smile. But it doesn’t sell Marc Jacobs menswear to me though.
