David Lynch and Christian Louboutin’s fetish collection

Christian Louboutin’s red soled heels have heated up red carpet, parties and catwalks all over the world. But you’ll be seeing it in a slightly different light thanks to David Lynch and his fetish exhibition at Paris’ Galerie du Passage opening this Wednesday.

“David Lynch had asked me to draw shoes for his exhibition at the Cartier Foundation,” Louboutin says. “He painted some of the shoes to show them in a cage. I wanted to ask him to photograph some of the shoes that I had designed in this for this particular project. I also wanted fetishist shoes. Those shoes would indeed follow those codes.”

The main criteria was “no bones” with a fetish theme, so it was no doubt that the exhibition featured a pair of crotch-high boots made of flesh latex that has been slashed and embroidered with rubies that resemble droplets of blood… These shoes are definitely not made for walking, but they’re certainly a sight to take in.

The exhibition fruns from October 3 – November 3, 2007 at the Galerie du Passage.

Those are some dangerous heels. I wouldn’t call them sexy by any means, but each to their own.

I saw this exhibition today. Fantastic. Both the photos and the subjects are just incredible.
