Maria Sharapova’s latest Nike tennis dress

A new Grand Slam tournament, a new dress for Maria Sharapova. The Russian tennis star debuted another one of her dresses she has co-designed with her sponsor, Nike, at the French Open which started last week.
The blue coloured dress features a dropped waist, black trim, and a loose layer of black mesh over the top. If you think it sounds like a bit of a mess, needless to say it definitely has some inconsistent design aesthetics with a bright blue racer back and the mesh detail at the dropped waist giving the illusion of a chunky waist.
Oh did I mention that there is the option to wear some leggings with the dress too?
I much prefer Stella McCartney for Adidas’s tennis dresses, they’re fun and a lot more consistent for fashion sportswear.
What do you think?
If you really love the dress, you can buy it at MidWestSports for US$90, just make sure you don’t mind a chunkier looking waist.

It’s a little un-sportslike. It might help to take away the mesh. The drop waist part, I thought it might help hide some chunky waist instead.

Ick, the dropped waist with all the gathering isn’t a good look. Sure it looks ok on her, but she’s like 6 foot tall.

I can see what you mean by the really bad design. I love the black over that great blue colour though, it’s quite seductive
