Confirmed – Josh Goot for Target Australia

As we blogged about late last month, Josh Goot is the next designer in line for a designer diffusion line with Target Australia.

He’s made his mark on the New York runway with his slick jersey pieces, and now he’s planning on dressing the Australian public who can’t afford to shop at Henry Bendel and Colette.

“I believe in the idea of taking my idea to a wider audience,” said Goot at the launch of his Josh Goot for Target range.

“And we’ve been able to create clothes which look like they are worth a lot more money than they actually are.”

The 12-piece Goot collection will feature his signature jersey dresses with his signature scoop back, and will set you back only $89.99. Prices will range from $129.99 for trenchcoats in metallic and grey marle, to a cheap $59.99 for a racer back rib tank.

Goot’s range will go on sale in 60 Target stores on June 19.

The Josh Goot for Australian Target follows in the footsteps of Stella McCartney, Alice McCall, T.L Wood, and Tina Kalivas who have all designed diffusion lines for the Australian branch of the American retail chain.

I really like what I have seen so far of the collection. I think I might have to arrive at work late in order to get me one of those silver trench coats. It is sure to be the most popular item in the range. I have also already stuck up a photo of the silver racerback dress at my office desk and have another for the fridge at home and my bedroom dressing table. I’ve been complaining for months about putting on about 6 kilos and now that dress is my motivation to stop complaining and finally lose it. I want one of those dresses and I want it to look HOT.

I really never thought I would ever be seen in any silver coloured item of clothing, but because josh designs are so minimalist it works.

I like the silver trench too, but I wonder if the quality will be as shit as the Stella Target collection
