Nicole Richie and Ashley Olsen top Peta2’s 2006 Worst Dressed list

The fur flies as peta2 takes aim at the fugliest fur-wearers.

So the press release says anyway.

It is no surprise that the young stars that women’s and girls magazines call “fashionable” and “stylish” have topped a Peta worst-dressed list. With furs coming back into fashion it’s open season for all fur loving stars as Peta campaign against “fashionable” celebrities flaunting their pelts.

Topping the Peta2 Worst Dressed list is none other than Nicole Richie.

“Maybe Richie takes the term ‘party animal’ a bit too literally. She rarely shows up to a bash without a dead animal (or 12) on her back,” says Peta.

Following her is Ashley Olsen, who “clings to animal corpses even tighter than she clings to her twin sister. Unhealthy attachments, anyone?” says Peta.

Rounding off the top four is Christina Ricci who recently posed for the cover of a magazine wearing fur from a slaughtered reindeer, and Eva Longoria.

Peta obviously doesn’t think too much about Ms Longoria as they think “she’d be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane.”

Gosh are the claws out at Peta or what!?

You can vote for the worst-dressed “winner” on the Peta website – www.peta2.com

Ingenious or… interesting? Bootie Pies.

For those who are starting to freeze their toes off whenever they step out the front door but still want to get a pretty pedicure before the party season kicks in for good, Bootie Pies is for you.

Wear bootie pies like a regular pair of boots to get the nail salon, have your toes rubbed and scrubbed.

Then before you have your toes polished, press the front flap down and slide your foot into the boot-with toes resting ON TOP of the flap. Now get your toes polished and be on your way!

Love the idea? Buy them online now at www.bootiepies.com

Spotlight: Anatomicals

I love Anatomicals. Well I love that the beauty label has given itself a point of difference with the funky toungue-in-cheek names for their products.

From Stop Cracking Up, a lip balm for super smooth lips, to No Old Bags Allowed, a refreshing eye gel, they’re a brand that is not only creative but produce great products.

Developed by brothers, Paul and Gary who left their jobs in advertising in 2002 to start Anatomicals, believing folk out there wanted something more fun when they reached for their shower gel in the morning.

So if you believe the 3 essentials in life are sex, going out, and living your too-too-short life to the fullest, then Anatomicals is totally your bag.

One of my favourite product names is Snog Me Senseless (pictured), a breathe freshener of course!

Australia’s Miranda Kerr a Victoria Secrets Angel

Last week Victoria’s Secret held their yearly runway extravaganza in LA and joining names like Gisele, Karolina Kurkova, Angela Lindvall and Anna Beatrize Barros on the catwalk was Australia’s own Miranda Kerr.

Currently the face of local fast fashion label, Portmans, Kerr was also present when the ‘Angels’ received the Key to the City of Hollywood.

The Victoria Secret show is due to be televised in the US on CBS on December 5th.

“It was amazing. It’s just so much more a bigger production,” Kerr said of the runway show.

“There was an angel flying through the crowd and they had bagpipe players, Justin Timberlake, gospel singers … The scenery changed for each look.”

With CBS also filming a behind the scene’s special featuring Kerr which will be shown on the CBS website, this marked a significant breakthrough for Kerr in the US market.

Claudia Schiffer shows her shimmer and sparkle for Accessorize

The face of Accessorize for their Autumn Winter 2006 Campaign, Claudia Schiffer shows that she captures the essence of the Accessorise brand down to a T.

Monsoon Accessorize founder, Peter Simon comments, “As a beautiful woman with International acclaim, Claudia Schiffer was a natural choice to be the face of Accessorize for our AW06 campaign. Claudia captures the essence of the Accessorize brand - vibrant, fun and energetic. She loved the Autumn Winter collection and expressed an interest in the achievements of the company’s charity - The Monsoon Accessorize Trust”.

The disco theme campaign with enough sequins and sparkles to remind you of the 70s, was shot by world-renowned photographer Jonathan Bookallil and bursts with energy and attitude.

Schiffer even collaborates with Accessorize to design a pretty ‘Claudia Clutch’ bag which retails at £45, and available at all Accessorize stores over the UK and online.

I must admit Accessorize have really gone above and beyond their usual stands this season. Check out out at www.accessorize.co.uk
