Dream of a Dress with Willow and Portmans

Kit Willow Podgornik and Australian chain store Portmans have gotten together for a capsule range, reported in the Sunday papers.

The collection to be called, Dream of a Dress, will consist of just 8 dresses that will hit stores on October 4 with the dresses will remain in store for just one month. The dresses will range in price from $170 to $260, much cheaper than the usual $395 to $790.

“Willow have evolved into one of the highlight Australian designer brands,” Jacquie Naylor, womenswear merchandising director at the Just Group, which owns the Portmans label. “Her design philosophies, fabrications and style are aspirational to our Portmans girl and we felt that she was the perfect Australian talent to approach.”

But do not expect the lower priced garments to be the same quality as the RTW Willow collection. “The fabric and detail aren’t the same was the Willow brand,” Podgornik told the Sun Herald. But she did add that they are still “really flattering with a beautiful colour palette.”

The D&G Gold Razr V3i now in Australia!

Guess what’s finally available in Australia? The Gold Dolce & Gabbana Motorola RAZR V3i!

Dolce & Gabbana duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have partnered up with Motorola for their latest incarnation of the Motorola Razr phone.

It has been reported that there are only 1,000 of these “liquid gold finish” V3i phones, and it comes with a load of extra features. Things like a personalised background with screensaver, a tailored sound for power up and down, an exclusive polyphonic ring tone and a video clip illustrating 20 years of Dolce & Gabbana brand history.

And if you like to fly from place to place, the phone also comes with Motorola’s Digital Audio Music Player and airplane mode. Who needs and iPod anymore?

If that’s not tickling your fashion fancy, you can also purchase a Gold D&G Bluetooth headset, a Gold D&G pouch and a Emu Stereo Gold D&G headset.

Avaliable in D&G stores internationally, but seeing as we don’t have D&G stores in Australia, I think I might have to start bugging our mobile phone service providers…. Or give eBay a go…

Belt it like Paris and Keira

It seems that every other celebrity has embraced the whole belt-cinched-at-the-waist trend over the last month or so.

Paris Hilton has been snapped all over the world in outfits that have been cinched at the waist as she has been out and about promoting her new album. Victoria Beckham has been seen wearing the new cult item of the season, the Fendi B belt.

Keira keeps it low key with the classic leather belts. Whether you prefer a patent leather belt, a wide studded leather belt or even a pretty piece of ribbon, belt down your loose and pretty dresses for that hourglass look.

The great thing about this trend is that you can brighten up your outfit by simply adding a coloured belt - yellow, red, blue… it’s up to you.

Check out the new 8 Hot Belts piece on SB.com for more belts…

L - R: Witchery Wide Curved Belt, ASOS Lace Belt, Warehouse Leather Rouched Through Belt, ASOS Leather Square Buckle Belt.

Friday tidbits: Scarlett hearts Reebok, Elle for ModelCo

Lot’s has been happening in the world of fashion and beauty news in the last week - too much in perhaps! Where do we begin…

  • Reebok have unveiled the details of their multi million dollar deal with Scarlett Johansson. As well agreeing to be the the new face of the brand, she will also design her own line of retro-inspired sportswear and footwear under the name Scarlett hearts Reebok. Products from the line will be available in stores in the Northern Spring.
  • Elle MacPherson and Bryan Adams recently got together for a photo shoot in Paris for Australian beauty brand, ModelCo. They’ve joined forces for a print and TV campaign campaign to promote the new ModelCo anti-ageing product, Erase Those Fine Lines. It is being promoted as a cheaper alternative to Botox injections. Maybe Linda Evangelista should try it out when the product hits stores later this year.
  • She’s the new face of Tom Ford’s eagerly awaited new fragrance, Black Orchid, but Julia Restoin-Roitfeld is more than just a pretty face. She announced that she is planning to open her own company, and told The Daily that it will tentatively be called Global Design Inc. “I’m specializing in art direction, creative direction, and graphic design,” explained the 25-year-old. “But I didn’t want to use my own name, so that’s why I went for something more simple.”
  • It has been announced that Teen People magazine is going the way of Elle Girl. The print edition of Teen People will cease with the September edition, but the magazine’s website will expand. Just like Elle Girl.
  • See how things happen at Macy’s when a new reality TV show about the US chain store airs in September. To be called Unwrapping Macy’s, “it will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how the retailer operates its stores, selects merchandise, creates a catalog and runs events like the annual Thanksgiving Day parade,” said Steven Weinstock, one of the producers behind the show.

The Linda Evangelista Vogue cover

Boy does it look like a real fashion magazine cover.

In the feature article, Linda admitted that she is pro-cosmetic procedure and to using Botox.

“For me, it’s just for enhancement, like hair color or makeup or any other tricks you can do to make yourself feel better.”

But she is not using Botox at the moment as she is pregnant with her first child.

Naomi Campbell also details her experience with laser facial treatment, while Christy Turlington says she would never do Botox.

This September issue of Vogue takes us into the world of fashion with frank interviews with many of the Supermodels who ruled the fashion world – not that many years ago. Thought it seems like it has been forever.

Part of the article featured in Vogue is available on their mini-website, or pick up a copy of US Vogue now!

If you can that is… I wonder when it will land on my (Australian) doorstep miraculously.

Jordan wants Keira Knightley to play her in biopic

The surgically enhanced British socialite, Jordon, told the media thst she wanted Keira Knightley to play her in a biopic about her life

“The film is definitely happening. As far as thinking about who will play me, I would love Keira Knightley. She is stunning and a very good actress. I’d want someone quite high profile like her doing it.”

Jordan tried to auditioned for Baywatch once upon a time, but was unsuccessful, but soon found fame for her big boobs in the pages of mens magazinges. This lead to several high profile relationships with footballers, once which resulted in a son with former Manchester United footballer, Dwight Yorke.

Then she met 90s pop singer Petre Andre on the set of the English reality TV show, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, and the pair married in September last year.

It could be a bit difficult seeing Keira play Jordan, considering their breast size are so drastically different.

Keira was snapped walking around the streets of London with her boobs belted down – maybe she’d hinting that she doesn’t want to star in the bio pic?

Interesting look I suppose.

Lacoste S/S06 in Australia

Last night Lacoste launched their Spring Summer 2006 collection in Australia at a glittering reception. It marked the first time where Lacoste’s entire collection has been available in Australia.

It was a fashion show straight off the catwalk of Paris, and even Creative Director, Christophe Lemaire, was in attendance. Sticking with classic primary colours (plus the signature Lacoste green) there were many crisp and clean pieces for the tennis fanatic.

Even if you’re not sporty, the Lacoste collection with it’s classic polo and alligator logo, is perfectly chic for the “preppy pop” girls and guys. There was an air of academic innocence and carefree fancys with crisp shorts, pants and headbands.

The models pouted with their painted red lips as they strutted down the catwalk in front of a large fashion crowd with their bubbly or Apple Martini’s in hand as they watched the chic clothes strut down the catwalk.

Spotted: Antonia Kidman (Nicole’s sister), Tom Williams (the Australian ‘face’ of Lacoste), Grant Pearce (Publisher of Vogue, Editor of GQ), Kirstie Clements (Vogue Editor), Jackie Frank (Marie Claire).
