What is that bag that both style queen's Kate Moss and Sienna Miller are carrying? That would be the Balenciaga Motorcycle Le Dix Bag. It has also been spotted on the arm of stylish girls like Ashley Olsen and Kelly Osbourne. They are the punk girl's IT bag, and for the girl who might just jump on a motorcycle and leave the all boys in her dust.

What I love about the bag is that it is a hold all and comes in varying sizes like the Luella Gisele and it's not a seasonal bag. Sienna carries her Motorcycly bag around England with a denim mini, tank top and cowboy boots; while Ashley Olsen (below) is all snuggled up in her winter clothes.

It has been pictured on the arm of stylish international girls as well as celebrities like: Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Kelly Osbourne, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Richie, Cameron Diaz, Nicky Hilton, Demi Moore, Kirsten Dunst, Anna Kournikova, Christy Turlington, Lindsay Lohan, Gwyneth Paltrow and of course Sienna and Kate. Phew that was a long list.

A thing to love about this bag is that the Italian distressed leather gets better with age, so you can use it as much as you want and will still look better for years to come.

The Balenciaga Motorcycle bag is a favourite of many stylish girls because of the trailing laces, the soft leather that gets better with age (after all , we all wish we could look better with age!) and the fact that the Motorcycle bag has an attitude of its own.

It also comes in every colour around, from the regulation black, white and red, it also comes in candy colours to metallic's. They come in a few different sizes, and even in as a clutch. So if you're going from work to a party (or from fashion show to fashion show ala Vogue Editors) they are a good all-round bag.

Did we mention it also came in at Number Five in The Style Group's Top 10 Luxury Handbags? Not bad for a bag that hit stores in 2001.

So when did this trend kick off?
The Balenciaga Motorcycle bag was introduced in Spring 2001, designed by the very talented Nicolas Ghesquiere. While us regular people weren't seen carrying it for a few more months (the price tag isn't one that screams affordable). In a copy of Vogue dating back to 2002 about 3 - 4 European Vogue editors carrying it around from fashion show to after party!

When will it end?
It's been hot since Spring 2001 as was revived thanks to the current Boho Chic trend, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller. As a bonus it doesn't scream 'look at me I'm a designer bag' so if you don't like the logo covered bags this one for you. I like it because it has a bit of an edge and is a little less structured. Will it be a classic? The jury is still out on that one. Ask me in a year.
