Naomi Campbell to speak to philosophy students at Trinity College

She’s a supermodel by trade, but according to Page Six and Sunderland Echo, Naomi Campbell is one of the celebrities lined up to speak to the students at the prestigious Trinity College Philosophical Society in Dublin.

According to the Echo, the rest of the celebrity lineup included Harrison Ford, Heather Mills, Leslie Nielsen and former Spanish prime minister, Jose Maria Aznar.

Philosophical Society president Ruth Faller said: “We always try to get big names because it raises the profile of the Society.

“It takes a lot of time phoning and emailing publicists around the world, but it’s all worth it in the end if they agree.”

This isn’t the first time celebrities have been asked to speak to the world’s oldest debating society.

Past celebrities to speak included Al Pacino, Helen Mirren, David Hasselhoff, Bono, Bob Geldof, and Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley. With notable former presidents and members like Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker and Samuel Beckett, one does have to wonder why the society asks so many celebrities to speak to its students.
