Kylie Minogue helps H&M love Shanghai

She’s the pop princess that inspired their summer swimwear collection, and since H&M loves Kylie, Kylie Minogue was in attendance for the first H&M store in China celebrations.

The event took place at Shanghai’s Science and Technology Museum with Kylie dressed in an ivory colour traditional Chinese dress and Asian inspired bob. Kylie performed a few of her hit songs on the night, with Can’t Get You Out Of My Head performed against a backdrop which included five million mirror tiles, 1,000 spinning mirror balls and more than 100kg of Swarovski crystals.

Kylie was in Shanghai to help launch the H&M loves Kylie collection which is due in stores next month.

“You only have to look at Kylie’s fantastic personal style to see how stylish she is, and she is such a sweet person. She was very enthusiastic in communicating what she personally likes to wear on the beach and showed us visual references like her own favourite 60s vintage bathing suit, which inspired the halter neck costume,” reveals H&M’s head of design Margareta van den Bosch.

The collection pays homage to beach living with swirling water-inspired aqua blue and green print throughout the H&M Loves Kylie collection which will include fluffy towels, crisp cotton-voile smock tops, as well as bikinis and one-piece costumes. Inline with the usual H&M prices, swimsuits will cost €19.90, while caftans and dress will be €29.90. You can also choose from a range of other beach accessories like sarongs, scarves, sunglasses, bags, flip flops and towels.

With such a complete summer range you will be able to pretend you’re spending summer in Australia when the H&M Loves Kylie range hits H&M stores worldwide next month.

10 percent of the money spent on the ‘H&M loves Kylie’ line will be donated to WaterAid. The international charity WaterAid is dedicated to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest people.
