CHANNELLING: Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley is known for playing a varied range of different roles on big screen and the same can be said for her style on and off the red carpet. Recently seen on the cover of the annual "Hollywood Issue" of Vanity Fair - nude - alongside Scarlett Johansson and iconic fashion designer Tom Ford, this girl can't seem to take a step wrong. At just 21 years of age, she's already starred in movies alongside big screen icons like Johnny Depp, worked with heartthrobs like Orlando Bloom, as well as played a tom boy with a talent in soccer. Which probably lead my 17 year old sister to bug me for months to do a Channeling piece about her after watch Keira in 'Bend it like Beckham'.

Movies aside, Keira knows how to glam it up on the red carpet while keeping her style uniquely her but adding enough glamour and sparkle. Usually letting the designer dresses do all the talking while she pouts and poses for the cameras. Experimenting with hair do's is also another Keira regular, from flowing dirty blonde locks or cropped elfin like do's, she's a girl who's finding her own sense of style. And look damn stunning while doing so!

When she's not walking down the red carpet all over the world, Keira can be found hanging out with her family and friends in England, rugged up against the chilly weather. She toughens up outfits with motorcycle like coats, cinches pieces at the waist with studded belts and generally lets loose with not-so-figure-hugging pieces. Comfort is the key.

For all her style, who can believe that Keira was not a fan of shopping... even growing up in London with some of the world's most popular stores. "I hated shopping until I went to L.A for the first time," Keira says. "Now I'm a shoe fiend. I see a pair of shoes I adore, and it doesn't matter if they have them in my size. I buy them anyway. I came home with four pairs that were 2 sizes too small - Prada, Michael Kors, a couple of somebodies with Italian names. I'm going to make an art thing out of them. Put a frame around them."

The desire for designer shoes has helped Keira transform into an old Hollywood starlet, with the beautiful cinched at the waist Roland Mouret dress she wore to the Toronto Film Festival last year. With maturity and poise, she pulled off a look that many of her peers could only dream of.
