<p>Showing off-site for the first time and with the Opera house as a back drop for his show entitled<em> Zora</em>, <strong>Fernando Frisoni</strong> presented a sharply tailored collection paired with his usual minimalistic style at <em>Rosemount Australian Fashion Week</em> Spring/Summer 2011-12. Models were fresh faced with barely there make-up which highlighted the simple aesthetic of the black, white and gold pieces shown.</p>
<p>Sharp tailoring has been a key trend at RAFW this year with many designers including jackets and suits in their range. However Frisoni stands out with his ability to vary shapes: he moved from a black and gold body con dress to fuller skirts and loose and flowing pants and tops which gave the collection a more relaxed and sporty feel and an added ability to take pieces from day to night. Frisoni also included some 60&#8242;s inspired shift dresses and longer dresses were edged with delicate fringing, channelling 1920&#8242;s flapper chic, perfect for evening wear.</p>
<p>Overall, the show packed a punch, with its combination of sleek and refined tailoring and finishing with the Jaws soundtrack.</p>
<p>A collection for the elegant modern women.</p>

<p><em><strong>Beauty at<a href="http://www.sassybella.com/category/on-the-catwalk/afw/"> Rosemount Australian Fashion Week</a> by Kimmi</strong></em></p>
<p>The spring/summer 2011-12 collection from <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.marnieskillings.com.au" target="_blank">Marnie Skillings</a> this season was a visual feast of colours, prints and patterns. While a fashion novice like me felt a little lost on where to look, there was always the comfort of a great hair do and perfect make-up to keep me focused.</p>
<p>The inspiration this season was all about adventurous, worldly girls. Feminine and soft, but still sexy and strong. <strong>Michelle Jank</strong> was one half of the styling team (the other being David Bonney) and it was amazing to see the detail and dedication she puts into a show. No model went on to the catwalk without every bit of make-up and hair getting Michelle&#8217;s tick of approval, it was amazing to see the woman in action.</p>
<p><span id="more-13460"></span></p>
<h4><strong>Makeup at Marnie Skillings S/S 2011-12 by Napoleon Perdis</strong></h4>
<p><strong>Skin</strong>: For the face it was all about subtilty and well sculpted features. A perfect complexion is a must for this look so Napoleon prepped skin with Complex Skin Renewal Serum and <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-209-auto-pilot-pre-foundation-primer.aspx" target="_blank">Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer</a>. Any small blemishes or redness was covered with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-19-pro-palette-concealer.aspx">Pro Pallette Concealer</a> and then covered with Camera Finish powder to set.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="imgBorder aligncenter" title="RAFW: Marnie Skillings - Beauty" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/marnieskillings-beauty02.jpg" alt="RAFW: Marnie Skillings - Beauty" width="500" height="333" /></p>
<p><strong>Brows</strong>: Left very natural with just a light brushing to look neat. No products were used.</p>
<p><strong>Eyes</strong>: Lids were lightly covered in <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-6-color-discs.aspx" target="_blank">Color Disc</a> Skinny Dip using a Sculpting Brush. This gave the eyes a fairly nude shimmer effect.</p>
<p><strong>Cheeks</strong>: Amazingly all the contouring was created by using the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-259-mighty-concealer-pen.aspx" target="_blank">Mighty Concealer Pen</a> in two different colours. Coffee Cream was used as a blush and Mellow Yellow was used to highlight.</p>
<p><strong>Lips</strong>: A thin application of <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-122-auto-pilot-lip-service.aspx" target="_blank">Auto Pilot Lip Service</a> in Original gave a natural, bare pout.</p>
<p><strong>Body/Hands</strong>: To tie-in with the well travelled, eclectic style of the show, Napoleon Perdis was also recruited to create intricate <a href="http://www.sassybella.com/henna-goes-global/">henna-style hand art</a> on every model. Plain decals were used as a base on which makeup artists used liquid liners to create the designs and then adorned them with jewels and studs. As you can see from the images, the work were intricate and stunning.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="imgBorder aligncenter" title="RAFW: Marnie Skillings - Henna art" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/marnieskillings-hands06.jpg" alt="RAFW: Marnie Skillings - Henna art" width="500" height="333" /></p>
<h4><strong>Nails at Marnie Skillings S/S 2011-12 by Blixz</strong></h4>
<p>Well manicured nails were a must for this show, seeing as though a lot of focus would be drawn to the unusual hand art. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.blixz.com.au/index.php" target="_blank">Blixz</a> made sure the girls nails were up to scratch (HA, get it!) by applying a nude/taupe coloured foil to the fingers. The choice of colour was perfect as the focus remained on the hand art, but also matched the make-up and clothing.</p>
<h4><strong>Hair at Marnie Skillings  S/S 2011-12 by Shane Hedding for Goldwell</strong></h4>
<p>Goldwell Ambassador, Shane Hedding created a beautiful hair style that worked perfectly by itself or under some of Marnie’s large-brimmed animal print hats. An off-centre part was created, then all hair from the side sections and back were slicked into a french roll. The top section was curled with a curling wand and placed in hot rollers. Once cooled, the curls were brushed out to create fluffy soft waves.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="imgBorder aligncenter" title="RAFW: Marnie Skillings - Hair" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/marnieskillings-hair07.jpg" alt="RAFW: Marnie Skillings - Hair" width="500" height="333" /></p>

<p><em><strong>Beauty at<a href="http://www.sassybella.com/category/on-the-catwalk/afw/"> Rosemount Australian Fashion Week</a> by Kimmi</strong></em></p>
<p>Gail Sorronda never shys away from a bit of fun on the catwalk, and this collection was no different. The hair and make-up for this show reflected Gail&#8217;s minimalist black &amp; white style. There was a level of femininity and cuteness to the look, but definitely futuristic. Will we be wearing our brows this way in 15 years? I am scared at the thought.</p>
<h4>Makeup at Gail Sorronda S/S 2011-12 by Napoleon Perdis</h4>
<p><strong>Skin</strong>:<a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-225-napoleon-complex-skin-renewal-serum.aspx"> </a>After the skin was prepped with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-225-napoleon-complex-skin-renewal-serum.aspx">Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum</a> and Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer, the make-up artists applied <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-259-mighty-concealer-pen.aspx">Mighty Concealer Pen</a> to get the skin to one even tone. Followed by <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-11-foundation-stick.aspx" target="_blank">Foundation Stick</a> for a full coverage application with a perfectly matte finish.</p>
<p><strong>Brows</strong>: As the brows were the ‘statement piece’, the hairs were neatly brushed into place, with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-217-china-doll-gel-eyeliners.aspx" target="_blank">China Doll Gel Eyeliner</a> in pure white Alabaster drawn perfectly over the top in a horizontal line.</p>
<p><span id="more-13403"></span></p>
<p><strong>Eyes</strong>: Almost left completely bare, Napoleon decided on just an itty bit of <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-217-china-doll-gel-eyeliners.aspx" target="_blank">China Doll Gel Eyeliner</a> in Alabaster to compliment the brow.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Cheeks</strong>: To give the face a bit of ‘light’, a small amount of <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-259-mighty-concealer-pen.aspx">Mighty Concealer Pen</a> in Mellow Yellow was applied as a highlighter.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Lips</strong>: Again this was left barely untouched. Original <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-122-auto-pilot-lip-service.aspx" target="_blank">Auto Pilot Lip Service</a> was applied before extending the foundation over the entire lips.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/gailsorronda-beauty01.jpg"><img class="imgBorder" title="RAFW: Gail Sorronda Spring/Summer 2011 - Beauty" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/gailsorronda-beauty01-170x150.jpg" alt="RAFW: Gail Sorronda Spring/Summer 2011 - Beauty" width="170" height="150" /></a> <a href="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/gailsorronda-beauty02.jpg"><img class="imgBorder" title="RAFW: Gail Sorronda Spring/Summer 2011 - Beauty" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/gailsorronda-beauty02-170x150.jpg" alt="RAFW: Gail Sorronda Spring/Summer 2011 - Beauty" width="170" height="150" /></a></p>
<h4>Nails at Gail Sorronda S/S 2011-12 by CND</h4>
<div>
<p>Fingernails received pre-painted &#8216;moon&#8217; manicures from the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.cnd.com/Consumer.aspx" target="_blank">Creative Nail Design</a> artists. Surprisingly, the base colour was a beautiful flesh tone that complimented the make-up perfectly, and topped off with a white reverse French tip. I really like that the nails didn&#8217;t sport any black tones because it kept the hands looking pretty and not dramatic.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="imgBorder aligncenter" title="RAFW: Gail Sorronda Spring/Summer 2011 - Nails" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/gailsorronda-beauty03.jpg" alt="RAFW: Gail Sorronda Spring/Summer 2011 - Nails" width="500" height="333" /></p>

<h4>Hair at Gail Sorronda S/S 2011-12 by Brad Ngata</h4>
<div>Hair stylist to the stars, and many other well styled Sydney-siders, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.bradngata.com.au/" target="_blank">Brad Ngata</a>, was at the helm for creating this cutesy hair do. In his own words, Brad described the look as:</div>
<blockquote>
<div>
<p>&#8220;Front-on the look appears dry, chalky and austere, which then changes to a sleek, glossy minimalism when they turn.&#8221;</p>
</div>
</blockquote>
<div>
<p>Brad chose products from the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.lorealprofessionnel.com.au/_en/_au/index.aspx" target="_blank">L’Oréal Professionnel Techni.art</a> range to create the look.</p>

<p><em><strong>Beauty at<a href="http://www.sassybella.com/category/on-the-catwalk/afw/"> Rosemount Australian Fashion Week</a> by Kimmi</strong></em></p>
<p>Continuing with what is appearing to be a reoccurring theme at this seasons Fashion Week, Karla Spetic created a sophisticated, elegant mood and somewhat ‘grown up’ collection enhanced with a Napoleon Perdis bright lip and a super sleek ponytail by Redken.</p>
<h4><strong>Makeup at Karla Spetic S/S 2011-12 by Napoleon Perdis</strong></h4>
<p><strong>Skin</strong>: <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-225-napoleon-complex-skin-renewal-serum.aspx">Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum</a> and Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer were used to prep the skin. The <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-259-mighty-concealer-pen.aspx">Mighty Concealer Pen</a> was used to hide any blemishes although these models have seriously amazing skin. Advanced Mineral Makeup foundation was applied and then set with Camera Finish, the perfect powder for when a camera may just pop up.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Brows</strong>: The brows were kept quite natural but lightened slightly with<a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-85-eyebrow-pencils.aspx"> Eyebrow Pencil</a> in Pale Rider.</p>
<p><span id="more-13369"></span></p>
<p><strong>Eyes</strong>: To keep the focus on the bright lip, <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-6-color-discs.aspx">Color Disc</a> in Skinny Dip gave lids a light shine and Cheek To Chic Blush Duo #1 added a bit of colour to the socket. No liner or falsies were used, rather a natural touch with lashings of <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-201-mesmer-eyes-mascara.aspx">Mesmer-Eyes Mascara</a>.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Cheeks</strong>: A beautiful semi-rosey cheek was created with <a href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-21-barely-blushing.aspx" target="_blank">Barely Blushing</a> in Barely Buff.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Lips</strong>: This look was all about the lip so a precision application is required. Lips were lined and filled with Lip Pencil in Pinot Noir and then coated with the ‘orangey’ goodness of DeVine Goddess in Hara.</p>
<p><strong>Nails</strong>: Fingernails were kept neatly manicured with some clear polish. Toes were adorned in a creamy Lilac to compliment the bright shades of the clothes.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="imgBorder aligncenter" title="karlaspetic-beauty6" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/karlaspetic-beauty6.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="333" /></p>
<h4><strong>Hair at Karla Spetic S/S 2011-12 by Redken</strong></h4>
<p><strong>Hair</strong>: Keeping with the sleek and elegant mood, slick ponytails were secured mid-way between the crown and the nape of the head. Hair elastics were covered by wrapping small amount of hair around the base.</p>
<p><img class="imgBorder aligncenter" title="karlaspetic-beauty4" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/karlaspetic-beauty4.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="333" /></p>
<h4>Lip Tip</h4>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;The bright orange lip needs to remain sleek and clean &#8211; don’t atempt it without liner. You’ve been warned!&#8221;<em><br />
- Napoleon Perdis</em></p></blockquote>

<p><em><strong>Beauty at<a href="http://www.sassybella.com/category/on-the-catwalk/afw/"> Rosemount Australian Fashion Week</a> by Kimmi</strong></em></p>
<p>I am trying not to play favourites, but the Spring Summer 2011-12 collection from <a rel="nofollow" href="http://rachelgilbert.com/" target="_blank">Rachel Gilbert </a>was fantastic. Everything from the hair to the shoes were fabulous and so far this overall look is standing out in my mind as the one I most want to copy. I won&#8217;t give it all away, but to say &#8216;bronzed beauty&#8217; would be a severe understatement. Below is the how and why.</p>
<h4><strong>Makeup at Rachel Gilbert S/S 2011-12 by Napoleon Perdis</strong></h4>
<p><strong>Skin</strong>: Napoleon’s holy grail ‘prepper’, Complex Skin Renewal Serum was applied to the entire face, followed by <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-123-auto-pilot-pore-minimizer-mattifier.aspx" target="_blank">Auto Pilot Minimiser &amp; Matiffier</a> to the T-Zone only. To create a super flawless complexion,<a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-259-mighty-concealer-pen.aspx"> </a><a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-19-pro-palette-concealer.aspx" target="_blank">Pro Pallette Concealer</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-129-china-doll-foundation.aspx" target="_blank">China Doll Foundation</a> were set with Translucent Loose Powder. The face became beautifully matte with not an imperfection in sight.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Brows</strong>: A clear trend for this season, brows were again kept very natural with just a light fill-in with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-85-eyebrow-pencils.aspx" target="_blank">Eyebrow Pencil</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Eyes</strong>: Even though the eyes looked barely touched from afar, Napoleon made sure that every girl went on to that runway with eyes that sparkled from within. Starting with Cremé De La Cremé Eyeshadow in Quick Silver over the lids and lined with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-217-china-doll-gel-eyeliners.aspx" target="_blank">China Doll Gel Eyeliner</a> in Alabaster gave the sparkle, but the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-145-lash-patrol-faux-lashes.aspx" target="_blank">Lash Patrol Faux Lashes</a> covered in Peep Show Madame Mascara really made the eyes pop.<strong>Cheeks</strong>: I personally don’t think this look would have been as amazing if it wasn’t for Napoleon’s talent with a bronzer. Bronze Patrol was used to contour the face, and then combined with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-6-color-discs.aspx" target="_blank">Color Disc </a>in Tequila Sunrise as a blusher. Light Patrol in Silver and Gold used as a highlighter made the girls glow.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Lips</strong>: The lips were kept nude but lightly coated with Eye Will Survive Eye Primer to give them a matte but nourished look.</p>
<p><span id="more-13407"></span></p>
<p><strong>Body</strong>: The girls were coated head-to-toe in <a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.napoleonperdis.com/p-165-summer-sun-self-tanning-spray.aspx" target="_blank">Summer Sun Self Tanning Spray</a> for the full body bronzing effect.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/rachelgilbert-makeup-01.jpg"><img class="imgBorder" title="RAFW: Rachel Gilbert makeup by Napoleon Perdis" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/rachelgilbert-makeup-01-170x150.jpg" alt="RAFW: Rachel Gilbert makeup by Napoleon Perdis" width="170" height="150" /></a> <a href="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/rachelgilbert-makeup-02.jpg"><img class="imgBorder" title="RAFW: Rachel Gilbert makeup by Napoleon Perdis" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/rachelgilbert-makeup-02-170x150.jpg" alt="RAFW: Rachel Gilbert makeup by Napoleon Perdis" width="170" height="150" /></a> <a href="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/rachelgilbert-makeup-03.jpg"><img class="imgBorder" title="RAFW: Rachel Gilbert makeup by Napoleon Perdis" src="http://www.sassybella.com/images/2010//2011/05/rachelgilbert-makeup-03-170x150.jpg" alt="RAFW: Rachel Gilbert makeup by Napoleon Perdis" width="170" height="150" /></a></p>

<h4><strong>Nails at Rachel Gilbert S/S 2011-12 by Blixz</strong></h4>
<div>
<p>To compliment Rachel&#8217;s dazzling designs, the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.blixz.com.au/index.php" target="_blank">Blixz</a> team were brought in to cover the models fingertips in a reflective silver foil, aptly named Sexy Silver.</p>
<p>I loved how this mirror nail effect actually kept the clothing in the spotlight but was still a great accessory for clothing that rarely needs accessorizing.</p>

<h4><strong>Hair at Rachel Gilbert S/S 2011-12 by Christopher Hanna for Goldwell</strong></h4>
<p>The adorably artistic Ivan Chircop from Christopher Hanna was the man behind the hair for this show. Armed with a select few <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.goldwell.com.au" target="_blank">Goldwell</a> products, some hair weaves and a weird plastic thing-a-ma-jig, Ivan created a soft, flowy, utterly stunning look that looked effortlessly chic.</p>
<p>To re-create this look yourself, just follow these 4 easy steps:</p>
<p><strong>Step 1</strong>: Middle part front of the hair, then back comb the hair and add some volume StyleSign Jelly Boost Spray Gel and hold with StyleFix Hair Lacquer medium hold hairspray to the sides of the hair.</p>
<p><strong>Step 2</strong>: Back section from ear to ear in a pony tail adding <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.goldwell.com.au/sites/public/ProductDetail.aspx?id=132" target="_blank">StyleSign Structure Me</a> to create body and movement to the hair, topsy tailed the pony tail inwards.</p>
<p><strong>Step 3</strong>: Brushed the sides and gathered into another ponytail on top of the first one at the back. Sides covering the ears length of a bob. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.girlclumsy.com/2010/11/remember-november-topsy-tail.html" target="_blank">Topsy Tail</a>&#8216;ed the second pony tail into the first pony tail, tied in together into a long ponytail.</p>
<p><strong>Step 4</strong>: Using Style Fix medium hold hairspray to hold front part of the hairstyle and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.goldwell.com.au/sites/public/ProductDetail.aspx?id=130" target="_blank">StyleSign Flat Marvel</a> straightening balm for the back pony tail to create a finish to the style.</p>

<p>This morning we were up bright and early for a little breakfast with <strong>Tiffany &amp; Co</strong> – not a shabby start to the third day of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week when there is coffee from Tiffany-branded cups. With the Sydney Opera House in the background, it was the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous <a href="http://www.sassybella.com/2011/03/tiffany-co-experiencing-the-lock-collection/">Tiffany Lock</a>s that were unveiled in all their glamour.</p>
<p>But what really caught our eye was two of the dresses styled with various pieces of Tiffany Locks pendant necklaces and bracelets – they were by Josh Goot and <strong>Dion Lee</strong>, both of whom have yet to show at RAFW.</p>
<p>We loved the structured <strong>Josh Goot</strong> collection with a beautiful abstract print and the gorgeous bright blue Dion Lee dress. Unseen by our camera was a back slit that really hit home the Dion Lee-feeling his garments usually have. Both were paired with gold and silver Tiffany &amp; Co Locks, layered to creat the perfect accessory to the sophisticated designs.</p>
