My motivation for exercising – beyond the obvious ‘being fit for Spring/Summer’ – is that in the words of Reese Witherspoon/Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. And happy people don’t shoot their husbands.”

So if combining the crazy mad fun that is Zumba with happy exercise endorphins, you have the ideal combination for a happy healthy life. Without going too zen or preachy on you, let me tell you about our second Zumba class as part of the 30 Day Zumba challenge.

Our first Zumba class was a fun introduction into just how little dance coordination we have (my parents clearly should have sent me to dancing classes instead of sports) so when we rocked up to Fitness First St Leonards, star Zumba instructor Kathy ‘Bananas’ was looking forward to throwing us into the deep end with a crazy class that went through what felt like 20,000 different dance moves – in reality it was the cumbia, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, samba and hip hop music.

It was like a crash course on all the dancing styles we never learnt, but because we had Tash from Breakfast With Audrey by our side to have a giggle with, the one hour class passed by in no time and boy were we happy thanks to the endorphins afterwards!

As Audrey Hepburn says, “happy girls are the prettiest”.

So go forth and Zumba ladies!

Stay tuned for our third lesson recap –  we’re doing our first group class which Kathy Bananas says is heaps of fun, I can’t wait – hopefully I don’t embarrass myself in front of a room full of people!
