Milestones are always an ideal time to throw a corker of a party or hold a fashion show that kicks off a week of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia activities, as Camilla and Marc did this morning. Camilla Freeman Topper and Marc Freeman celebrated 10 years with a collection that was inspired by the Russian Matryoshka dolls and celebrated classic sports luxe styling with a touch of opulence.

With one eye looking back at their archival collections and their Russian inspiration, Camilla and Marc started their show with sleek sporty separates that were form fitting in some looks, complete with a racer back neck and a deep and sharp slit to show off some thigh, while in others a chic t-shirt style dress with similar style slits. Mix and match trousers and racer back t-shirts were intertwined with a red leopard print and a blue nature print.

The show turned when the tailored became sharper and the colours were monochromatic. Tailoring had become the focus, as was how the design team worked with the fabrics. Flared skirts and sheer lace pieces came into prominence, which made us question how their loyal customers would be wearing the pieces which definitely left not a lot to the imagination.

The cherry on the top came when the opulent gold pieces strutted down the runway. The perfect tailoring showed off the structure the fabric added to the styling, with structured coats, skirts, tops and even a one piece body suit. These pieces were styled to perfection with the sheer separates, reminding us of the inner sexiness that lies just under the surface of a Camilla and Marc design.

The addition of Ryan Storer ear cuffs and neck and wrist pieces by Estelle Deve created a pefect celebration for Camilla and Marc’s 10th anniversary collection.
