The Australian fashion runways have never really been a huge draw card for the international model contingency, but the upcoming Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia runways next week will be looking a little more glamorous thanks to the likes of Georgia May Jagger and Julia Nobis set to strut their stuff.

In town yesterday for a British Airways 777-300ER launch, Jagger revealed to News.com.au that she was in town to walk the runway for one show during MBFWA, “but I don’t think I am allowed to say who it is yet,’’ she said.

Only time will tell who it will be, but we can tell you that Julia Nobis and Ruby Jean Wilson have just been announced that they will be walking in the Phoenix Keating show on Thursday April 11th at 3pm. It’s great to see these two return to Australia to model after finding runway and advertising campaign success on an international level.

Rumours have also been running rampant that much-loved Australian supermodel Gemma Ward will be making an appearance either on or off the runway during MBFWA, after many failed public appearance attempts.

To add to the model pack jetting to Australia, MBFWA’s favourite international bloggers: Phil Oh (Street Peeper), Susie Bubble (Style Bubble), Candice Lake, Tommy Ton (Jak & Jil), Bryan Boy and Yvan Rodic from Facehunter are set to decent on our shores shortly also. Add to that buyers from international ecommerce giants Net-A-Porter, ShopBop, MyWardrobe and Matches Fashion, and we’re set to have a pretty interesting mix on and off the catwalks this year.
