If there is something that Oscar de la Renta is known for, it is creating elegant masterpieces that become red carpet classics, and have fashionistas fighting over them. His latest collection was of course no different. With 60 looks, this was a show that had sublime, colourful and grand looks in signature de la Renta style.

With all of the embellishments, silks and lace we spotted, we think this is a collection more suited for the red carpet than the office. De la Renta toyed with punk, adding black graffiti detailing to lace dresses and skirts, and it was a pleasant alternative from his much-loved grandeur.

And the experimentation with punk didn’t stop there: the models, including Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevinge, had their hair thrown back in flustered beehives that were complete with hot pink and blue streaks. This was certainly a collection that appealed to both de la Renta’s usual clientele, and a younger, more adventurous fashion set.

Our favourite looks ranged from sky blue dresses with lavish tulle and lace detailing, to a strapless cream and black striped floor-length gown, to an elbow length top covered in an array of pink flowers and paired with peach shorts. Floor-length dresses were given a sexy update with a slightly higher hem at the front, which allowed flashes of leg to show through.

And the breathtaking beginning to the show? Karlie Kloss rocking a bright orange latex top, cream skirt with a thigh-high split at the side, and a chic black jacket. Finishing the look of was a chunky cream flower necklace that we’re definitely lusting after… and they were shown in an array of hues, so you can have one for every day of the week.
