Roberto Cavalli for Target Australia: The newest Designers For Target collaboration

It’s been a while since Target Australia has launched a ‘Designers For Target’ collaboration. As you probably remember, Stella McCartney launched the initiative in Australia back in March 2007, followed by Josh Goot, Zac Posen and then a slew of local Australian designers. After a break, Target Australia are back with a vengeance, announcing today that their next fashion collaboration is with Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli in an Australian exclusive collaboration.

Launching on October 31, 2012, the Roberto Cavalli for Target collection will consist of 42 pieces that bring together his signature animal prints with casual daywear, glamorous party pieces, footwear and swimwear. Just in time for the Australian summer.

“Target is delighted to collaborate with Roberto Cavalli, one of the world’s most famous and well regarded fashion designers,” said Dene Rogers, Managing Director, Target Australia. “Roberto Cavalli has previously designed a hugely successful collection for other mass retailers and he builds on that success with a 42 piece collection specifically for Target Australia. We strive to provide good quality, stylish fashion for our customers at great value and this collaboration gives Australian women access to international designer pieces at affordable prices.”

If you’re not already excited about the Roberto Cavalli collaboration with Target Australia, the campaign will star the gorgeous supermodel Karolina Kurkova, shot by Giampaolo Sgura on Cavalli’s yacht.

“I’m excited to bring the joyful and positive spirit of my work to a new audience… When I set out to design this collection I had a wonderful party in mind with all women dressed glamorously and sensually. Of course there will be lots of prints as they are a part of my DNA… My inspiration for prints and for clothes always comes from the wonders of nature… Fantasy, colour and fun!” said Roberto Cavalli.

The Roberto Cavalli for Target Australia range will be available in sizes (AU) 8 – 16 and will drop in 136 stores nationally and to buy online at target.com.au/designersfortarget from 31 October 2012. Prices will range $49 – $99 with one statement piece for $129.

Stay tuned for more photos of the collection!
