As you probably have realised, I don’t often put photos of myself up on SASSYBELLA.com. I leave that up to the girls who looks like models with the styling skills to put me to shame. But I never say never so when David Jones asked if I would like to go in store during sale their Half Yearly Clearance Sale to have a sticky beak, how could I say no?
Did I mention I was offered a $1,000 David Jones gift voucher for me to give away to one lucky reader? I am green with envy because it’s a pretty awesome prize.
Instantly I was drawn to Level 2 on their Elizabeth Street store – home to some of Australia’s and the world’s best designers and after getting a little carried away at the Celine and Lanvin pieces, we came across the likes of Josh Goot marked down to $329 for an amazing silk dress and first season Dion Lee for $499 from $2,499. Can you believe it??
After stalking the likes of Willow, Zimmermann and Scanlan & Theodore, I fell in love with a vermilion Dion Lee dress with pleated detail and a side slit that was $549 (was $1099), a French Connection camel coat $199.95 (was $299.95) and Oroton clutch $140 (was $345) and RMK wedges $49.95 (was$149.95).
The whole outfit totalled $938.90, which gaves me $61.10 to spend on a wine and food at the food court. Perfect!
Even though it was a game of “pretend” I ended up buying on to the Dion Lee dress after Twitter and Instagram insisted I had to buy it – $549 later, I have an amazing dress but nowhere to wear it. Anyone throwing an amazing cocktail party this long weekend?
