Emporio Armani reopened their Sydney store with a cocktail party and Strange Talk

When a luxury fashion house re-opens, come rain, hail or shine it draws a crowd. And that’s just what happened on a rainy Sydney night when Emporio Armani reopened their Sydney store on Martin Place with a glamorous cocktail party.

It was like a scene out of the movies: the men looked dashing in their tailored suits and slick hair while the women were perfectly preened – even though the rain was pouring outside and the humidity levels were high. There was just something about the Armani.

The new-look Emporio Armani Sydney store was teaming with guests who enjoyed custom cocktails and the beautiful new interiors designed by Giorgio Armani and his team of in house architects. Almost as if it were designed to match the new Spring Summer 2012 collection, the store features signature glossy stone floors in neutral tones whilst walls are covered with light, shiny fabrics with black crystals. A grand central staircase connects the two stories.

We were taken back by the new season beautiful clothes and accessories – there is something about seeing the pieces you’ve lusted after on the runway, in person. Photos never give fashion the same justice as seeing and touching the pieces in person. The resin jewellery and supple leather handbags definitely caught my eye, along with the sleek lines of the Emporio Armani Spring Summer 2012 collection. Needless to say we have a few pieces on our shopping list.

What finished our night off perfectly was the live performance by Melbourne band Strange Talk – who looked more like they had just stepped out of an Emporio Armani campaign than the pub circuit.

As always we wished we had pulled out our camera a little more between juggling the delicious Ciroc vodka cocktails and canapés so we’ll post more photos of the store when we get them.
