An Estee Lauder Pure Topaz makeover, the Constance Jablonski look

I’m the first to admit, I’m not very adventurous with makeup anymore, mostly because I’m in a rush in the mornings and only seem to change the colour of my nails or lips when I’m feeling adventurous. So when Estee Lauder invited me down to get a beauty makeover by their premiere makeup artist Jahi Ireland, I couldn’t turn it down.

In celebration of their recently launched Pure Topaz collection, I was to get the Constance Jablonski look, as seen in their stunning ad campaign imagery. Created for Summer 2012 by Estee Lauder’s Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux, the Topaz collection took inspiration from a holiday in Arizona with its warm sun and amazing desert colours.

“I was thinking of a gorgeously healthy-looking woman that had an element of fantasy in her personality,” said Pecheux. “I wanted to convey that with a palette of strong yet soft colors.”

How Jahi worked his magic:

FACE
Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Topaz Chameleon
Apply on the cheeks and blend up into the temple to highlight.

EYES
Pure Color Five Color EyeShadow Palette in Topaz Mosaic
Apply the top left shade from the lashline up to the crease for a pop of colour.
Mix the bottom right shade with the previous shade used and blend over the browbone to accent.
Use the bottom left shade in the crease and extend slightly above to define and shape the eye.

Pure Color Intense Kajal Eye Crayon
Apply Dramatic Black in a thick line along the upper lashline from inner to out corner.
Apply Dramatic Teal under the lower lashline from inner to outer corner for a smouldering eye-opening effect.

Double Wear Zero-Smudge Volume Mascara in Black
Apply on the upper and lower lashes

LIPS
Pure Color Sensuous Rouge LipColor
Apply the shade Sensuous Nude to create a soft, full and sexy lip that balances the eye drama.

What do you think?

While I STILL don’t look like the blonde goddess of a supermodel that is Constance, we loved the Dramatic Teal eyeliner so much that we have on our shopping list for the next time we’re at the Estee Lauder cosmetics counter. It was something I had never tried before – being brown eyed I’ve always assumed that blue liner would only work for blue or hazel eyes.

But the piece that had just litterarly gasping for breath was the Pure Colour Illuminating Powder – it is the most stunning bronzer compact we have ever laid eyes on. Check it out below, the colour of the compact in the photo is little redder than it is in real life, but isn’t it just stunning?

Also we discovered that the Estee Lauder five-colour eyeshadow compacts are presented in the compact so that people can use them in any diagonal direction when applying it the face.

The Estee Lauder Pure Color Topaz Summer 2012 collection is available for a limited time only at Myer and David Jones stores, selected pharmacies and online at www.esteelauder.com.au.

The Estee Lauder Pure Topaz makeover with Jahi was offered to us for editorial consideration.
