Alex Perry talks disguise, being shy and his new Executive A/W 2012 collection

We secretly think that Alex Perry never sleeps, besides hosting Project Runway Australia and being a judge on Australia’s Next Top Model, the Australian fashion designer has just released his second work wear range for his flock of fans.

Known for his cocktail dresses, gowns and bridal wear, Perry has carved out a niche for his design ideals as well as building quite a public profile on television. We couldn’t help buy pose a few questions to Perry about some other popular television shows like Undercover Boss, like what would his disguise be if he were to go on that show?

“Ha! I would start by removing my sunglasses – I’m like Clark Kent, once those babies come off I am incognito!!!” Perry said, referencing the sunglasses he has permanently perched on his head.

As for the character he would play?

“I would probably resort back to my youth- I was a little shy and awkward- I know- hard to believe right!”

Alex Perry shy? Surely not!

Meanwhile, his vision for the Alex Perry Executive A/W 2012 collection is for the sophisticated woman who isn’t shy about her love of sharp tailoring and great style. We asked Perry about his inspirations for the collection and he told us:

“I really wanted to create a sharp and glamorous collection women could wear not only for the office, but for an office party or after work event- my collections are synonymous with after 5 and glamour so I wanted to carry this into a working environment.”

If you’re a fan of Alex Perry’s gowns and cocktail dresses, you will love his Executive collection which ranges from $179 to $699 – not bad when his special occasion items starts retailing at a higher price. The Alex Perry Executive A/W 2012 collection will be available at David Jones. Check out the look book images below.
