Navigate around the world with five new Molton Brown fragrances

We’ve always had a soft spot for Molton Brown and their luxurious body washes and body lotions, so when we found out they were creating fragrances we jumped at the chance to try out our ‘nose’ skills.

Created by Jennifer Jambon, the principle perfumer at Molton Brown and winner of Prix International du Parfumeur Createur 2008 best young perfumer of the year, the Navigations Through Scent collection is ‘an artisanal journey in fine fragrances’.

Inspired by the old Spice Trail, Molton Brown’s Navigations Through Scent collection begins in Egypt with IUNU (30° 12’N, 31° 32’E), a powerful and seductive fragrance inspired by the Egyptian white jasmine. LIJIANG (25° 16’N, 110° 16’E) takes us to China with its lead ingredient of osmanthus absolute, a floral-musk scent – and my personal favourite – that resembles the soft silks and crisp teas found within its borders. SINGOSARI (07° 91’S, 112° 65’E) takes us across to Indonesia and the fragrance takes in the spices and tropical weather with a patchouli inspired scent. The trail then leads up up to England with APULDRE (51° 02’N, 0° 47’E) a fragrance inspired by green lawns, English mischief and gin & tonics and captured with its lead ingredient of juniper berries. And last but not least we cross the Atlantic Ocean to Canada with ROGART (45° 33’N, 63° 9’W) and no surprisingly their iconic maple is the key inspiration for the fragrance which gives us a fresh woody scent that.

Carefully created by Jambon over a year of careful research, exploration and discovery, the fragrances are the result of her travels and experiences around the world, giving us an intimate collection that have that long lasting beauty and flexibility that we crave.

My favourite is LIJIANG, with its floral but musky scent that is subtle but warm. It reminds me of winter knits, hugs and intimate dinners at dimly lit restaurants.

The Molton Brown Navigations Through Scent collection is available online and in stores now! Also did you know that Molton Brown have an Australian flagship store in the QVB in Sydney? We popped in last week and added about 20 things to our wish list for Christmas!

Check out photos of the creation process of the fragrances below, taking us from the research to the trails and final hand packaging.
