LFW: Temperley London spring/summer 2012 gives us a Grecian goddess

Monday at LFW saw shows in the morning from the likes of Anitpodium, Pringle of Scottland and Erdem, but the big celebrity crowd drawers were in the afternoon and evening with Burberry Prorsum, who drew Sienna Miller, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Tallulah Harlech, Mario Testino and Oliver Theyskens not to mention a Royal appearance at Alice Temperley‘s Spring/Summer 2012 show with Pippa Middleton sitting front row.

The inspiration for Temperley this season was Grace Kelly, with models swishing down the catwalk in white turbans matched with crimson lips. The fabric of the collection was silk, with dresses draped over models reminiscent of Grecian goddesses. The collection was made modern though with the use sheer material and delicate flower embroidery and beading, something Temperley is known for. We weren’t disappointed either as several heavily embellished white gowns featured in that featured in the collection were fit for princesses (or their sisters). There weren’t only dresses either, a superb tailored white blazer and high waisted black shorts added a sharper edge. There was also a hint of the 1920 flapper in the collection with long fringing adorning several dresses. Prints were not forgotten either with a stunning magnolia print on either a cream or navy background reminding us of summer.

Our pick? A floor length power blue gown or the crisp white blazer. Check out the whole Temperley Spring/Summer 2012 show here.
