Kanye West to debut fashion line with Christine Centenera consulting

They live on opposite sides of the world but Kanye West and Australian stylist Christine Centenera share more than a love of Celine. Australian Harper’s Bazaar broke the news today that Centenera, who also holds a job as the magazine’s fashion editor, has been consulting on Kanye West’s debut clothing line.

Set to launch during the Spring/Summer 2012 show season which kicks off this September in New York, the pair have been working together since they first met during the Autumn/Winter 2011 shows in Paris this March. Bazaar reports that Centenera is flown to Paris twice monthly to work with West. All she would say of the matter is that West is a very private person and that it’s not her place to comment.

Centenera is a favourite subject of street style bloggers during the show seasons and has been consulting with fashion brands in Australia for the last few years, working with some of our most talented young designers from Josh Goot to Dion Lee. Her style has been documented on the top street style blogs from The Sartorialist to Street Peeper and Jak & Jill.

We’re kind of excited about this news.

Kanye may have great style and cool music but I’m not convinced he will be a great designer. Time will tell.
