Henry Holland has launched his first ever Pre-Spring 2012 collection for his namesake brand, the House of Holland with the boldness and brightness of eighties style. Never one to shy away from colour, for Pre-Spring he has released a video starring British model Eliza Cummings miming to Neneh Cherry’s chart topping song Buffalo Stance.
I’d say most of the House of Holland’s fans wouldn’t remember who Neneh Cherry was – because we don’t. A Swedish singer-songwriter and rapper, Cherry topped music charts around the world from the late 1980s to 1990s. The fashion tie-in runs deep with the title of the song refers to Buffalo, a group of photographers, models, musicians, hair and make-up artists formed by the late Ray Petri.
After comparing the two videos we love the fresh take on the 1987 music video by Mariano Vivanco with Holland’s designs shining. Watch them both below.
