We love that time in summer as the sun sets and anything shiny glimmers with the prospect of a fabulous night out. Whether you just sit by the beach sipping on some sparkling or you dance the night away as the music pumps out of speakers, the night is yours for the taking at dusk.

So when we found out that Australian jewellery brand Samantha Wills had based her entire spring summer 2011 line around that idea, we were in love with her creations before we even saw a picture. Throw in the stunning Heidi Mount modelling in their campaign imagery (see it all below), and you have a winner. The American model is a favourite of Karl Lagerfeld’s, having shot her both for Chanel and the 2011 Pirelli calendar.

Shot by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Alastair Mckimm, the campaign was shot in a loft in Soho, New York. Not surprising since the talented designer has set up base there. Of her inspiration, Wills says:

Last month of summer, but the heat isn’t showing any signs of backing off. My girlfriend is in the city visiting for the weekend & I take her to the rooftop of The Standard hotel. The 1960’s inspired decor encourages after hours mischief and is the perfect spot to drift from New York’s Day to Night.

Drinking ice cold Bellini’s, it is on this afternoon that I realize the true beauty of the city’s long summer days. I can see my apartment window, I watch the little boats on the river and
the parties getting under way on rooftops below. It is as if we are on top of the city. The sunset transforms even the most powerful buildings and lights the entire city in shades of rich gold, papaya and rose. As the dusk descends the colours change quickly through the spectrum until we are left in the darkness, surrounded by millions of winking New York lights.”

I feel like jumping on a plane and spending summer in New York City. Who’s with me?
