There was no lack of glamour backstage at the Alex Perry show, where head honcho of make-up, Napoleon Perdis, appeared to personally make sure every single model was up to scratch.

To compliment Alex’s extravagant new collection, Napoleon’s inspiration was a Cuban princess – strong, stunning and a little exotic. There was a hint of the Orient with the eyes and the stunning Purple and Gold combination really brought life to the models otherwise flawless collection.

Skin: As with all of Napoleon’s looks, Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum and Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer were used to prep the skin. What I call the ‘perfect complexion kit’, comprising of Mighty Concealer Pen, Sheer Genius Foundation and Translucent Loose Powder, was applied as the base.

Brows: A minimal touch of Eyebrow Pencil was used to fill in the brows but keeping them very natural.

Eyes: The eyes were strategically coloured with Color Disc in Purple Haze and Loose Dust in Contrary Canary and Violet Femme. Above the colour splash at the brow bone, Prismatic Eye Shadow Quad #6 White was applied as a highlighter. The extremely precise, sleek lines were created with China Doll Gel Eyeliner in Equinox and to finish lashes were coated in Mesmer-Eyes Mascara.

Cheeks: To create the contoured cheek and give an even sleeker aesthetic, Mosaic Powder in Blushing was applied to the cheekbone.

Lips: For a completely natural but stunning pout, lips were lightly dusted with Loose Dust in Mosaic Gold and topped with Lip Lacquer in Clearly Glam.

Hair: Super sleek pony tails were created using Alterna’s Caviar Anti-Aging collection and kept in place with black hair elastics. Surprisingly the elastics were left exposed, usually a rare sighting on runways.
Nails: Both tips and toes were given 2 coats of Ballet Slippers by Essie. The slightly sheer Pink tone of the polish kept the focus on the clothes but still looked effortlessly chic.

Where To Wear It

The eyes are definitely unique but with a bit of practice and lots of confidence this could be worn as one crazy party look. The intense glamour comes down to the colour combination, in my opinion, so stick with them. Don’t be shy!
