Whoever is part of Burberry‘s marketing team should get a big slap on the back because the company is taking marketing to a whole new level. And the world is noticing with Fast Company naming the British fashion house the most innovative fashion brand in 2010, for ‘deploying a potent combo of design and technology to burnish a storied brand’.

The British fashion house came in at 13th overall behind the likes of Groupon, Google, Facebook, Twitter and Apple for their innovative work. IMG, the organiser of New York Fashion Week came in at number 6 in the fashion list, just in front of 3.1 Phillip Lim and Forever 21.

A clear example of Burberry’s innovation was on display earlier this week at London Fashion Week where they streamed their Autumn/Winter 2011 show live on to the 32 metre digital screen on top of London’s busiest intersection, Piccadilly Circus. Meanwhile the show was happening live at London’s Royal Park of Kensington Gardens with a star studded crowd which included Rachel Bilson, Kate Bosworth, Alexa Chung, Stella Tennant, Maggie Cheung, Jamie Hince, Alison Mosshart, Anna Wintour, Mario Testino, Lily Donaldson, Julia Restoin Roitfield, Daisy Lowe, Alice Dellal and so many more we can’t name.
