Louis Vuitton Spring / Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

With the Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaigns pouring in, we haven’t had a chance to post many that have caught our eye – until the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign landed in our inbox. With emphasis on glamour, Marc Jacobs enlisted the help of the striking Freja Beha Erichsen, Raquel Zimmermann and Kristen McMenamy to star in the campaign photographed by Steven Meisel.

“We started from the very beginning this season talking about glamour and something very stylized, very glossy,” says Jacobs, Louis Vuitton Artistic Director. “We arrived at something which I would compare to the Eiffel Tower lighting up every hour on the hour. Something of artifice that is just so gorgeous, and glamorous, and beautiful, that you are ompletely mesmerized by it.”

Jacobs goes on to call the trio of model “bad girls” with their dark bold lips highlighting their seductress pouts, which offset the “good girls” in the demure Fall/Winter 2010 ad campaign.

We weren’t big fans of the oriental inspired collection when it was streamed live on to the web, but it translates well into a bold decadent campaign that shows off the amazing textures and sensual setting. Mind you, we kind of hate the ‘Vuitton’ logo bags – does that mean the logo brandishing 1990s are coming into fashion?
