Abbey Lee Kershaw for Portmans A/W 2010: Behind the scenes photos

Top models doing high paying fast fashion ad campaign is not an uncommon occurrence, but typically in Australia it is. So when news broke of Portman’s snapping up one of Karl Lagerfeld’s favourite models and one of the land down under’s hottest exports, Abbey Lee Kershaw, as their Autumn/Winter 2010 face, the blogosphere (well locally at least) were abuzz with the news.

We were lucky enough to snag 16 behind the scenes images from the campaign that was shot by Nicole Bentley and styled by Christine Centenera (who also happens to have quite a following for her personal style as well). The campaign isn’t officially 100% released until March, but a few images have been leaked online already. The Portman’s Autumn/Winter 2010 campaign starring a platinum-haired Abbey Lee was photographed in December around Sydney city and stylish suburbs Paddington and Darlinghurst.

We’re kind of loving Christine’s styling which sees a lot of multi-texture layers and some sharp footwear. Has Portman’s made a turn for the fashionable? We’ll have to wait and see when the collection launches in store, but all signs show that they’re trying.

It’s been a very lucrative season (spring/summer 2010 internationally, autumn/winter 2010 in Australia) for Abbey Lee, who currently stars in ad campaigns for Versace, ManiaMania, Donna Karan, Rag & Bone, HUGO by Hugo Boss and Tom Ford (including a giant billboard in Los Angeles).

Check out the behind the scenes video that accompanies the campaign – first released to Grazia Australia last week.

    Looks like an amazing shoot.

I am afraid it is looking very mainstream, which is sad because with a girl like Abbey there is so much potential, you shouldn’t be afraid of doing something different.
